One of the problems with Ashton Gate is the away end has the better acoustics, so they always sound louder, don't get me wrong I'm not knocking your support but even when there are only a couple of hundred fans in there and their team score it is noisy!
With the predicament we are in it is not surprising we have low crowds, plus when you were at ninian and before your FA cup run you were averaging the same crowds as us.
Your marketing team pulled a blinder with the season tickets offer when you moved to your new stadium, so well done to them, but remember fans are fickle you have a couple of bad seasons and your attendance will drop along with the singing.
Away fans are true fans who sing for their team, Bristol City and Cardiff City both have them.
By the way was you there yesterday?

no, i only go to home games....<ok>

the season ticket thing you refer to was when we needed money quick to pay off tax bills....nothing to do with getting more fans into the new stadium..

though i do sing my heart out when we go to wembley <ok>

If I'm wrong on that one I'm sorry but I work with Cardiff fans who told me that you all had your tickets frozen for x amount of years, around the same time as you moved grounds!
But like I said how many fans would you have if the roles were reversed?

Forget the result - the game could have gone either way.
Cardiff - not very good, we haven't been for big chunks of the season, but that's because we lack pace and can only play one way (even though we generally have better players than Brisol City).
Bristol - some pace (when Adomah came on), but a really poor side. The fact that we needed two 'lucky' goals to win doesn't say much in Cardiff's favour. We do not look like play-off contenders, but many of the top eight are not very good either!

You must be hoarse from all the singing you've had to do in the last couple seasons Swamp.! <cheers>

Cardiff have looked tired and one dimensional for the last month or more. There were signs of improvement against Brighton and flashes yesterday. While we may have our best 11 on the pitch, the positional changes in midfield don't sit comfortably with me. Cowie and Lawrence left and right with Mason the furthest forward of the centre 3 looks the more natural formation.

As for two own goals, the build up play for both was good and the ball was played into dangerous areas. The first OG would have been a tap in for Miller or Gunner (I think it was him) if the defender hadn't got there first. With the second it was a case of a whipped in ball that the defence didn't deal with as a result of strikers following in. Lucky to a degree, but you make your own luck.

The thing that disappointed me was the amount of loose ball / second balls Brizzle picked up. They appeared keener to get the ball, but less able when they had it.

This is absolutely correct and has been the same for this past half dozen games. Whenever there has been a spill by one side, it always seems an opposition player gets there first.

If it was down to a lucky bounce now and again, that's fair enough, but we seem slow to react generally. I always accused Huds in the past of being slow to the second ball and he has improved immensly - unfortunately, it's spread amongst the rest of them.

Earlier in the season we were so sharp in midfield that we stole the ball so many times and won games through it. We need that agression back in there.

We (cardiff)were terrible yesterday but we beat you on every stat ie possession , shots , corners , and the one that really matters goals ,we were really tired and as another poster said lacking in pace, but don't really care as a win is a win even if it was rather ugly, on another matter think we have to change things a little and rotate some players give so tired legs a rest ready for the season run in :D

I think its a mental thing as much as a physical thing Sparkey. We seem flat footed and not anticipating the loose ball. Perhaps the physical tiredness is numbing the mind. Need a bit more hunger in amongst the undouted skill.

We were not at our best but still too good for a very poor brizzle side who will only be saved from relegation by the Portsmouth situation.

I would take Stead if available - always scores against us, leads the line well and holds possession. Pitman would be a squad player at best although the sub winger had good pace and could go inside or out. None of their other midfielders could keep up with him.

I think what people are forgetting is yes we would be in the bottom 3 if Portsmouth never had the 10 point deduction but only by 2 points!!

cardiff were fortunate and were as poor as bristol city on saturday, but 3 points is 3 points at the end of the day, both teams need to improve drasticly if they want to reach their targets this season, bristol to avoid relegation and cardiff to stay in the playoffs.....on that showing its not looking good.....

yes, but dai, you havnt seen us play all season. we're going through a bad patch, this win, however badly both teams played on sunday, could spark a return to the consistency we showed earlier in the season when we were a fixure in the top 4 or top 6 <ok>
