No resting of our best players in the Cardiff game, but we could do with a little rotation that are like for like replacements. Walcott comes straight in for me. Wilshere and Flamini should be benched replaced by Cazorla and Arteta. I'd keep Ramsey in as I can see him bossing the midfield. Cazorla------Giroud-------Walcott --------------------------------- -----Ramsey----------Ozil-------- --------------Arteta--------------
Where's this Gnabry love-in come from?! I've seen loads of Gooners go on about him being awesome but I saw nothing beyond a few solid performances. Certainly room to be optimistic about his future but nothing that would lead me to drop the likes of Theo or Wilshere over him. Yet. FWIW I think we'll be comfortable in this match. "Oh but the Mancs only managed a point between them when they went there". Yeah well I watched both games and they both played sh*te. Cardiff are a decent side and home and work their nuts off but I can't see us losing if we turn up in the professional manner we're been showing for the last 11 months or so.
I think one of the reasons fans tend to be very negative about players is because it is much easier to read negative qualities and mistakes in a player's game than the positive ones. A player probably makes 2000-3000 decisions in a game, where to run, where to pass etc etc etc, unless you are just watching the player you probably miss 90% of them. Some people have a knack for being able to look at a player and seeing the important stuff, and not being distracted by just the on-the-ball decisions that the cameras pick up. I have got better at it over the years but I still freely admit there are others better at reading players than I am. However, from a layman's point of view, and using layman's terms, I would say looking at him that when a player of his age and technical ability starts having a "solid" game, then the chances of him breaking through and starting to have "amazing" games are very high.
No one has been comfortable at ours for 1.5 seasons but you are the best side in terms of quality & form to visit during that period so you may be right.
You ****ing blind or something? They are all there, also would like to see you attempt to do a match thread. I ain't got the time to write up any previews anymore, and therefore won't write up some half-arsed attempts.
On the plus side it looks like you've got a volunteer to do a comprehensive match preview every week right there....!
True. A87, write up a 1000 word preview of the game, I then will copy and paste it into the match thread. Cheers buddy.
Stop being such a lazy **** A87 can't do it, he's got pretend Romanian hookers to stuff monopoly money down their G-strings
hope he plays tbh, far inferior player to cazorla who TC will keep in his back pocket......... be warned we raise our games against the big teams, whether arsenal are a big team anymore is anyones guess (even we've come closer to winning a trophy in the past 8 years) but i would be shocked if you won by more than 2 goals...........
Bad news on Giroud I'm afraid guys - I've just brought him into my Fantasy Football team for the injured Sturridge - the way my luck has gone this season that should see his goals dry up!!
Arsenal team to play Cardiff: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Arteta, Wilshere, Ozil, Giroud, Ramsey, Cazorla, Gibbs. Subs: Vermaelen, Rosicky, Walcott, Monreal, Flamini, Fabianski, Gnabry.
Leaving Flamini on the bench for this one gives us the added option if we need to bring on defensive cover in midfield.
Or if we're not controlling the midfield and Cardiff are getting too much of the ball, we can bring on Flamini to mix it up a bit and push Wilshere or Ramsey further forward.
Playing without real width seems to work well in our games in the CL, but I don't think it's suited to league games
