I read that too. Against the argument though, Choo and Dalman have been running the club, plus Borley, for 10 years or so. You would have thought they had learned a few things in that time with all the ups and downs. No need to answer that. Clearly while they have business skills they lack any footballing qualifications and depth of knowledge. At their level the simple answer is to bring in a director of football with hands on experience. Tan doesn't seem a fan of that solution. Positive results from this would take a while to come through but if allied to a change of football manager, it would give us a path forward. On the managerial front, which may have no impact on us (but you never know), I heard last night from a strong source that the manager of a football league club in a fifty mile radius of us is leaving his club. I regret I'm sworn to secrecy so I can't name the club or manager at this stage. I can say I'm not talking about Bristol Rovers and Joey Barton, although that is imminent. Finally, Nin, when you say Division 3, are you talking old money and mean the current Division 1, or, heaven forbid, the National League.
Mike Flynn it is then.... Can't see it being the new Jack victim or Pearson. In saying that, I would happily take Flynn as a replacement.
Clearly not a fan then Remote? Let's face it, would he do a worse job than Mick right now? On the odd occasions I've seen County over the last couple of years they do seem to attack at pace... something we seem to have lost the ability to do.
Correct. Just on lunchtime TV news. Flynn has left Newport. Whether it has any relation to us I don't know. Just glad my in the know source was right.
Does your 'in the know source' know who we've lined up to replace Mick? Surely there must have been some discussions behind the scenes. Flynn has stated that he wants a break from football for a while so I don't think he would be in the reckoning, even if we wanted him. For me the best candidate would be Nathan Jones but I doubt we could tempt him as we have crap players and no money!
Sorry Irish my source has more irons in the fire at Newport, hence the heads up Wednesday night. It wasn't denied there could be a link with us but that could just have been wishful thinking. If we lose tomorrow, ahead of the international break and with the Jacks and Fulham away next 2 games, that may be an ideal opportunity for a change with us. On the other hand wait until after the Fulham game when we could be in the bottom 3, then dump Mick and the only way is up for a new incumbent. Time will tell.
Don’t think Bellers is in the best frame of mind at the moment to take up the role. Hopefully he gets help and is back soon. One for the future maybe.
