Hi cling. Cardiff on a roll, so they have the impetus, plus home advantage. Local derbies are notoriously difficult to predict, but the hosts to win, I feel. <peacedove>

Hi Vetch. I wish we were as confident as you. First goal (if there is one) will be important. If it's us, I think we might get another. If it's your guys, they'll defend it better than most teams we've played this season. Can't see it being an expansive game.

Nah, that was Huw Jenkins wasn't it? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Really don't fancy making any prediction for this one.
As usual it could go either way in what should be a very tight affair.
Whoever scores first is likely to win I reckon.

Must admit, your lots ability to maintain your push at the top end of the table has surprised me.

Jenkins chose to sell his share in a football club he helped save from extinction. No problem with that.

However, Tan's refusal to honour a contract ? Now I do have problems with that. Sadly, none of your lot think he's doing anything wrong.
    Speaks volumes for you.

Got a copy of that contract and all the associated paperwork then have we?

I'm not going to get into chatting nonsense with you Vetch about the rights and wrongs of paying dues following my tongue in cheek comment above.
We both know where it'll end up.

VT Actually has an excellent record of paying his debts and no doubt will honour what's due at the appropriate time.

My own personal opinion is it would have been far better had bother clubs decided to put the transfer fee to one side and instead give his grieving family a few million instead.
Though I do believe that we HAVE set up some kind of fund for them.

Enough of that though. Fingers crossed we turn you lot over tomorrow, though a draw wouldn't be terrible given our run and your current position in the table.

Anyone getting nervous? If we had been able to bubble to the game we would have been there by now supping some ale or eating burnt burgers....I always take sandwiches and pop on the bus...cheaper....is Matty going to be the first name on the team sheet...is clueless going to attack to win the game as he has already alluded too in press reports? Or are we going for another draw? Whatever we need to score two goals...

Ryan Bennett and Marc Guehi have been passed fit for Swansea City’s South Wales derby clash with Cardiff City.

Steve Cooper had vowed to give the two defenders every chance to prove their fitness after their respective hamstring and head injuries.

And they come into the side as Ben Cabango and Joel Latibeaudiere drop to the bench.

Jay Fulton also starts, taking the place of Yan Dhanda from the midweek draw with Bournemouth.

Freddie Woodman is in goal, with Bennett and Guehi joining Kyle Naughton in the Swansea defence.

Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell are the wing-backs, with Fulton lining up alongside skipper Matt Grimes and Korey Smith in midfield.

Jamal Lowe and Andre Ayew are paired together in attack.

Swansea City: Freddie Woodman; Kyle Naughton, Ryan Bennett, Marc Guehi; Connor Roberts, Korey Smith, Jay Fulton, Matt Grimes (captain), Jake Bidwell; Andre Ayew, Jamal Lowe.

Substitutes: Steven Benda, Ryan Manning, Joel Latibeaudiere, Ben Cabango, Yan Dhanda, Kasey Palmer, Wayne Routledge, Viktor Gyokeres, Liam Cullen.

Cardiff City: Alex Smithies; Leandro Bacuna, Curtis Nelson, Sean Morrison (captain), Joe Bennett; Joe Ralls, Will Vaulks; Sheyi Ojo, Harry Wilson, Mark Harris; Kieffer Moore.

Substitutes: Dillon Phillips, Robert Glatzel, Josh Murphy, Filip Benkovic, Greg Cunningham, Gavin Whyte, Marlon Pack, Sol Bamba, Joel Bagan.

    Referee: John Brooks

Looks like Cooper is ‘packing’ the midfield with 3 ‘defensively’ minded players who will sit in front of the 3 CBs.

Perhaps he’s hoping to keep it tight and nick a goal on the break

Late winner after Cardiff have run themselves in to the ground trying to break our defensive wall....

Might not be a bad plan playing away against an in form side who are scoring goals. Especially as losing is not an option for the the supporters of his side ;)

Agreed - my comments weren’t a criticism of Cooper, rather an observation on what I believe his thinking is <cheers>

Want it about this time last year that we started to lose ground with the leaders?

That’s the side I would have picked. Happy with Fulton or Palmer.

I didn’t take your either as disagreeing - I just thought I’d clarify my comments!

Come on the lads - give us some Christmas cheer and bring back all the points <cheers>

Palmer can come on in the second half to help us see the win through ....
