Well the Championship is full of famous clubs, mostly from the past, but this one is a big bugger! Gary Madine graced the stripes of SW, one of their best it has to be said! Now making his living in the lower league, knocking them in for fun with our old friends Blackpool! Our old friends at Blackpool have been on the phone, amazingly they have suggested that if we wanted him, they would not stand in his way...Fug me, tidy that! Let’s get off to a good start, 1-0 City, with a brace from Roger Moore! More Roger...more!
Cardiff City XI (4-3-3): Smithies; Osei-Tutu, Morrison, Nelson, Bennett; Vaulks, Ralls, Bacuna; Ojo, Moore, Hoilett. Subs: Day, Bamba, Pack, Tomlin, Murphy, Paterson, Glatzel.
Solid looking side . The big unknown is how the two newbies on the right will work together. Theyll need plenty of verbal support from the experience inside them. Legs in the middle of the park and a decent bench. Like it. Noticable that Flint doesnt even make the bench.
Shocking defending in left back position. Bacuna and Bennett standing still, free header in to create the chance. Ref giving them everything and us nothing. Moore fouled every time.
Predictable sluggish fare from city. Clumsy first goal and amateur defending for second. City haven’t had a shot although maybe Moore should have done better in injury time. Without someone who can pass a ball in the opposition’s half we have nothing. Can Warnock please come and take Hoilett and Bacuna.
This is dreadfull. Poor in every position. Not winning any balls, first or second. Playing like a mid table team at the end of a long season. This is where playing pre season friendlies against lower division sides is of no benefit. No sharpness and tactics very predicable. Could be a very long season. Uninspiring at best.
Played like they were all on the pi$$ last night. Bacuna smoking weed as well. He was worse than useless.
When you go behind early on at home you know the opposition will sit back and make you create. City did absolutely nothing to pressurise Wednesday. There were no periods of attacking play at all. Just sideways passing before the inevitable lump it up front. City had a lot of possession but all in their own half. It was as comfortable a win as any team could hope for. Harris has to sort this out. The squad is full of average pedestrian players with little football skill and ability, and an inability to pass into space and create chances. This could be the season City suffer a relegation fight. I’m not saying that just because they were plainly 2nd best to an average team but because I genuinely feel our squad lacks as I say enough decent players at this level. The window has a month to go. Tan needs to be aware that some investment in players is essential.
I'm away chilling for the week up in deepest Buckinghamshire. Now we need to be rational and keep a cool head over this. WTF was that!!!................
