Today we welcome a famous club to Cardiff City Stadium...s club with which we have history. My old pal Andy Campbell has been ringing me constantly telling me of “that goal”. I notice that it seems to change as the years go on, how he took it down on his chest, ran 59 yards beating three players....lifting it with his left foot, smacking it with his right and breaking the net from 100 yards! Whilst he exaggerates a tad...it was to be applauded! Hmmm 2-0 tonight for city! Neil Warnock could rotate his Cardiff City squad against QPR, with Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Callum Paterson both in contention for recalls. The Bluebirds' only injury absentees are defender Sol Bamba (knee) and forward Isaac Vassell (thigh). QPR centre-back Yoann Barbet is suspended after his red card against West Brom, so Grant Hall will return. Rodney Marsh could get a start after a long layoff...but Gerry Francis unavailable! Josh Scowen is likely to starts to the midfield as Hoops boss Mark Warburton looks for fresh legs. Match facts Cardiff have picked up just one win in their past eight league matches against QPR (W1 D3 L4), winning 2-1 in August 2017. QPR haven't lost consecutive away league visits to Cardiff since October 1980, with this their 14th game there since then. Having lost two of their opening three league games this season, Cardiff are now unbeaten in their past six in the Championship (W2 D4). QPR have won four of their past five away league games (L1), as many as they had in their previous 27 on the road (W4 D7 L16). Only Brentford have had fewer different goalscorers (excluding own goals) in the Championship this season than QPR (4). Each of the Hoops' last four league goals have been scored by Nahki Wells.
Virtually a full squad to chose from with only Bamba and Vassell out. I'm ignoring Jazz and Connolly as they will never be fit - ever. Will Warnock rest Trigger? 3 games in a week could be tough for him and he will be more needed Saturday? Wingers to be rotated? Rodney Marsh and Gerry Francis to start for the R's?
Rod Marsh had left before I watched QPR at Loftus Road during my student years in SW3. Gerry Francis came after I'd left the area, but in between those two there was a certain Stanley Bowles for me to enjoy - what a player! Couldn't we do with someone like him ourselves just now.
Marlon Pack. Roger Lloyd Pack played Trigger in Only Fools and Horses See what I did there? Everyone loved Trigger. Google Trigger's Broom.
Absolutely Sparks. We would fill the stadium every week with a player like him. While he didn't start last night I see Zohore came on as sub for the Baggies last night. Didn't change the result but looks like he put in a good shift. Just in time for us........
Triggers Broom eh? Hmmm..metaphor for todger I wonder....being a horse an all that......BFB at it again?
Masky your mind works in such mysterious ways. If I was to call you a perv, that would be doing a dis-service to pervs.
im a perv but masky made me blush a few times>>>>>>>>in fact he`s so pervy he could make an onion cry
BFB/BT PAL, why on earth do you say such things to Masky eh? Give Masky some love, embrace Aber and all who’s had the pleasure...think deep joy!
Some fecking match thread this is! Perhaps we'll get something about football/team/manager etc on here after the game? Couple of football comments at the top of the thread set it off after Masky posted it, but up till now it's wandered nowhere. The support on here for a matchday chat has made it a pointless exercise for Masky or anyone else for that matter - I despair sometimes. Pissed off with it all and pissing off to the game shortly. Hope I'm in a better mood come 10pm - if we lose, feck knows what I'll do. Yours truly, Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells........
Growing up in the Rhondda I always though that those down in the Vale and out to the coast were delicate little flowers. Sparkey stepping in as the board's Mary Whitehouse. Still waiting for the team to be announced before commenting.
Miserable fecker!!! Tomlin in. No Ralls at all. Must be injured or ill. Murphy in for Hoilett. Coxe on bench. Fact not a Masky fixation.
Tomlin and Murphy start, we must be at home. Team news Cardiff City: Smithies; Peltier, Flint, Morrison, Bennett; Bacuna, Pack; Whyte, Tomlin, Murphy; Glatzel Subs: Etheridge, Coxe, Nelson, Hoilett, Mendez-Laing, Paterson, Ward QPR: Kelly; Cameron, Leistner, Manning; Rangel , Ball, Chair, Scowen, Eze; Osayi-Samuel, Hugill Subs: Lumley, Kane, Wallace, Pugh, Mlakar, Wells, Masterson
Early goal, nice. Just need Glatzel to get a second pretty sharpish then shut up shop...... ,,,,,,nothing to do with the fact that we've predicted a 2-0 win for us with Glatzel to score.
