Cardiff weren't in the game before the red card so defo weren't going to be after it. Red card should of helped us and it did in a way as we won the game but it ended up us attacking a parked bus in which we made it look very hard work yet again. As a defensive approach you can't mark it as Cardiff never troubled us. yet again we huffed and puffed but in a more slow way but still making 1 pass to many or running into a pocket with no room and losing the ball. The crosses we did find weren't very good and the big outlet I saw since the red card was our R/B in acres when attacking yet we very rarely used the option. We looked neat and tidy at times on the ball in our own half but to be fair no Cardiff players were trying to hard to press them. Hard game to weigh up for us as they were absolute gash from start to finish. Happy with the 3 points but it seemed like the same old stuff as usual back pass shooting and not finding our main striker for shots off. Trying not to be harsh as we won the game in a canter which you want to see but at times the team make you so frustrated. one thing that did slight worry me though was we created absolute nowt for Joseph against a very poor team with 10 men. Next up Coventry lets hope they come to have a go because I really think it suits us better I also think thats why we had such a good record of winning games when we went 1-0 up last season because teams have to have some sort of go to get back into games. At present its sit deep against us get a break away goal go 1-0 up then sit even deeper. but Happy weekend lads and lasses the 3pts make it more cheerful.
It could have been a huge banana skin for us, we need to start picking up some home form now, starting with Coventry. You would hope the new guys settle in more as the days pass. Looking at the fixtures, away to Norwich on Tuesday night after the Coventry game then away to Sunderland on Friday who will be playing a consecutive home game, that hardly seems fair
I know this will be an unpopular opinion but the teams that win the most titles are usually based on a rock solid defence. Think of the Mouhrino Chelsea teams. When scum started winning it was based on a good keeper and a Bruce /Pallister or Vidic/Ferdinand. We control most games but our finishing is generally woeful. What those teams also had was very good forwards who could score. When Farke went up with Norwich he had Pukki who had probably the two best seasons of his career.
Brilliant to see aj get schooled, I hope there is no rematch clause. Dubois should fight the winner of fury usyk.
