We’ve been up and down with Fulham over the last five years, only fitting that we should do battle with them once again. A handsome team with an enchanting football ground. 1-0 first leg, with Peter Thorne to head winner!
I think it will be 2-0 ,Brian Clark with a header and joe bonson from 25 yards a screamer. we are the champions.
Not according to the picture I found on t'interweb. Specsavers issue again Masky? I never saw him at Cardiff but he was a big a hero at Newport, averaging better than a goal every other game. In fact 131 goals in a career of 313 games for 7 different clubs is pretty good going. A Barnsley lad, born June 1936, died November 1991 at a young 55.
Can't see that we've had him as ref at all this season, but he's reffed Fulham 3 times and they didn't win one of them.....
Good idea Will, except that according to Warnock, these officials are uncorruptible unless you're a "big club"........
Ref. Mr. Eltringham. Not good. Been back to 2010. 8 defeats, 1 win and 1 draw. I can't recall anything specific but knew I had a less than helpful feeling about him.
He did our forgettable FA cup home tie to Carlisle. He though didn’t give a blatant penalty for a foul on Bennett in this defeat at Birmingham (@1.40)
Apparently, we're "a bunch of scrappers" - I'll take that right now..................... https://www.not606.com/threads/the-playoffs.385271/
The last club to be promoted from 6th position in the Championship was Blackpool. Can't remember who they beat. Still, lightening striking twice and all that. On the upside, First time we were promoted to the Prem it was as Champions. Second time, 2nd place. So it stands to reason that via the playoffs is the next part of the sequence. What do I know? Just nerves controlling the fingers.
I’d prefer to be playing Brentford than Fulham. Brentford started playing like rabbits in the headlights. Just froze. No experience in the team or management. To see off the plastic team from west wales they’ll need to just relax, cast off their fears and play like they did before they saw the finishing line open up before their eyes. Whereas Fulham have bucket loads of experience plus know how to get the officials on their side and nasty players like that centre forward.
You're right Sparkey. I'm just spooked by the possibility of 5th being beaten by 6th again. Still, got to get to the final yet.
I agree. If we do fail at this eleventh hour, I'd much rather be beaten by the other two - we'd never hear the end of it.
