i would like to think it was a full house tonight, with a full team, and a good win to boot! Have a serious look at progressing and keep the good feeling going. Hmmm...not going to happen is it? Empty ground, changes galore will probably mean a struggle and defeat would mean a halt to our run! Give me a good game, and a 2-0 win with Jazz Richards scoring a hat trick! please log in to view this image Omar Bogle joined Cardiff from League One side Wigan (Courtesy of BBC) Omar Bogle is in line to make his Cardiff debut at home to Burton. Brian Murphy, Bruno Ecuele Manga, Greg Halford, Matthew Kennedy and Danny Ward all started the first-round win against Portsmouth and are expected to feature again. Burton have former Bluebird Ben Turner available for the first time this season after a five-game suspension carried over from last term. Midfielder Hope Akpan is suspended but new signing Sean Scannell will start. Connor Ripley, Tom Flanagan, Joe Sbarra and Luke Varney are also likely to start the game for the visitors. Matty Lund suffered an ankle injury during the league win against Birmingham on Friday and the midfielder will not be involved. "We still think the punishment was very unjust for Ben, that will never change," Burton boss Nigel Clough said of Turner's return. "But he's back now and we've missed him for the five games. He'll definitely start at Cardiff." Carabao Cup odds The odds for tonight’s game, courtesy of Sky Bet. I'd have thought Halford will play in the middle with O'Keefe. Kennedy and Ward out wide an Tomlin just behind Bogey. That doesn't look a half bad side to me.
Dreadful game. Bruno was beaten to absolutely everything, O'Keefe was appauling deffinitely not the player we've seen previously, Tomlin had some good spells but I can't help but think we've paid £3m for this lad who is far too easily frustrated when things arent going his way and just gives up (reminds me of Jay Bothroyd - Wether thats a good thing or not remains to be seen) but he does look dangerous in spells.
Just to add to this though, I'd like to mention that young Cameron Coxe who made his full 1st team debut last night played brilliantly, a light from last nights shower of rubbish. I expect to see more of this lad and think he will benefit from a spell in the lower division.
Is Mark Harris injured as otherwise surely he'd have been given a game? The limp central midfield on display last night goes to reinforce the need to get decent cover in for the hallowed trio if they get injured/suspended.
Halford and O'Keefe are clearly not the answer to an injured or suspended member of our current midfielder trio. If Tomlin was free of the personal issues that seem to dog him, I wouldn't worry so much. He could be an option further forward playing in a Whitts type of role, but at the moment he looks a bit of a luxury purchase at 3 mill. Said on another thread that Bridcutt who has just gone to Forest would have been a Warnock type of player that would have fitted the bill.
I'll go with that Dai. If it were the option of a place in the 3rd round draw of the Carabao Cup or three points on Saturday, I know what I'd choose.
