The past can't make you fcuk up, as you said only you can. But the past can give you an idea of what's possible. Bleak future for Cardiff, they will do a Pompey as their owners aren't as clued up as those at Swansea.
Pompey's issue wasn't owners who were clueless, they leached all the money out of the club. Since the 2 administrations Swansea have been managed very well tbf. Our owner claims that anywhere in the region of about 60-70 million of debt will be turned into equity in shares. If that doesn't happen we might be ****ed, but ask yourselves why he's throwing good money after bad if he just intends to **** off.
Billys - we know what's possible mate, we've got no delusions about that. It's just so bloody boring when other club fans trot out the same thing whenever we play them. History tells you nothing about our club other than what has happened in the past - learning from it is a different matter. As for doing a Pompey by imploding and Swansea having better owners, you're talking crap. Pompey, Swansea and Leeds already have something in common - you've all gone bust big time. We never have. We've sailed close to the wind with Hamman and Ridsdale, but we've always paid our way. Maybe a bit late on times and still with a bit to do, but we've never taken the easy option and welched on our debts. Our creditors are being paid in full by our new owners, not a few pence in the pound after diving for the protection of the courts. Why does everybody raise the Swansea thing anyway?. They went bust (twice!) and have done remarkably well this past 10 years since the last time they ripped off local suppliers. Their current board headed by Huw Jenkins have done an excellent job and they deserve where they are now, even if they did start with a clean sheet 10 years back. Something you could have achieved over a similar period - but then again, you're too big for that aren't you?
