So there's no financial penalty for breaking FFP rules, you're simply banned from playing in European competition the next year. We're more likely to get to Europe by coastal erosion than by winning the FA cup this year. (captain caveman ) These type of remarks make me love NOT606. but not all the time. Thanks CC.
Well we're hardly going to attract champions league players now... this is a disaster of epic proportions.
On a more serious note How does this effect us other than exempt from European conpetition as I'm sure it will do somehow?
I've had a vision, it just came to me. Cardiff City and Hull Tigers go into financial meltdown and are liquidated. The two ex Chairmen Vinny Tan and Asso Allem( given them nicknames to spice it up a bit) get there heads together and merge what is left of their once proud clubs. Out of the ashes The Phoenix rises. The Hull/Cardiff Tiger Dragon Bluebirds. They'll play in Birmingham or Loughborough as it's equidistant( twice I've used that word this morning) to both cities. They'll play in black, amber and red stripes, blue shorts and white socks. Now that's a team I could support!!! It could happen.
If we go down we get a fine for the amount of every penny we lose net season. So if we lose £20m, we get a £20m fine on top of that. And a nice winding up order and some free administrators.
According to this website there is a points penalty for breaching PL financial fairplay rules: http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/financial-fair-play-explained.php The transfer ban as a penalty, which the Football League is introducing, sounds like a simple and effective deterrent.
