Caravan?

How about a real early Ziggy era classic....The Laughing Gnome?

Also, to 'keep it real' I can think of quite a few posters, one in particular, on here that it could relate to too.

"Caravan" worked really well in Belgium.

The point is that we need something and it has to be "ours". I never quite got the "Ultra" movement, I believed that it was based on gangs etc and to be honest, watching videos of stands filled with flag waving, smoke bomb hurling fans, did not do anything for me. I simply just thought that it added nothing to my match day.

It took a trip to Lokeren to change that.

We have to find something to make our support stand out.

I've looked (sad I know)and couldn't find a suitable one, but I can't help but think sea-shanty's would make good chants.
Y'know it doesn't have to be a Bowie song!!

I love sea shanties, but you really need something which resonates with the wider populace, and a chart hit is more likely to do that.

Patches brought this up earlier. Nobody has said the Housemartins wrote it, but they made a bigger hit out of it and it's in more recent memory.

I reckon we should forget about having our own song, and 'Ni' the bastards...

If you want a stirring anthem it's got to be Elbow one day like this.

Chorus

Throw your arms out wide
wear the black and amber shirt with pride

I'm city till I die
one day like this a year would see me right

Also the chorus has a great beat so could be clap clap hands out wide along with the words. Play it and see for yourselves.

Aladdin Sane is probably my favourite Bowie tuuune , then Suffragette City .

loving Ronsons Keys on this too - if it was him on the studio track

Unfortunately the club wouldnt adopt Aladdin Sane as a stadium track as its too east to mix to Allam insane :/

Why have we never thought of that before.

The Spiders From Mars were from Hull. Mick Ronson was single-handedly responsible for Bowie's success. Bowie famously took all the credit for the tracks when in fact it was Mick that wrote and arranged the vast majority.

Mick, Trev and Woody weren't involved in Heroes.

If we were to adopt a Bowie song, it would have to be a Ziggy one.

How about changing words of suffragette city to super Hull City.
Can't afford a ticket may be appropriate but could be changed to got to get a ticket.
If we can get rid of the name change issue then we could even say Wham bam thankyou Allam.

You mean apart from The Housemartins, with an obvious crowd anthem song like "Caravan Of Love"?

It's so ****ing obvious that it's embarrassing!
