I know, but they have to go through the motions - my question is why does it take so long to do that?
To believe that I'd have to think that the officials are all conspiring to make us lose, and I'm not going down that route.
As for me, the league is not done yet until we are in a position where it's mathematically impossible to catch us. Then I can say " catch us if you can".
Since they decided to announce what’s happening in the stadium get the feeling they want to keep var overrules to a minimum to save the on field ref having to talk to the crowd. That’s why they were trying to find anything to rule it out.
Commentators said they were checking everything else in the build up too. Why, don't know. I know it took almost 4mins and they only added 2mins whilst ignoring the three subs, endless time wasting and injury time for whilst Elliott was down.
No, of course not. I would always expect us to keep fighting until it was mathematically impossible, but I still wouldn't think it was at all likely. Yeah, keep going in case a miracle happens, but don't put any emotional investment in that possibility.
I haven't said that. Especially not Slot. I think he picked our best starting XI that was available, especially as Gakpo is clearly not back to full fitness (FGS rest him for the internationals, Holland). I just think that for the last few weeks, we have been mediocre except for the City and Newcastle league games, and that going into the last lap of a 1500 race is not a good time to discover your legs have gone, even if you are 12 metres in front.
Well, we’re left with the league and a good head start for the run in. This result (and the PSG one) has been coming though….our legs have gone, as they have around this time of year for a few years now. Am kinda glad that it was Newcastle and not one of the normal rivals….you cannot argue that they deserved it and their fans deserve some silverware.
