I was on a long coach journey at the weekend with my kids so bought some rhubarb and custard hard sweets . Not as nice as I remembered . These things are great for travel sickness too.
Not travel sweets as such but does one still get Blackjacks. Or are they deemed politically incorrect these days?
It's odd that I wouldn't sit with a family sized bag of sweets at home and chore every single one of them in one go but somehow being in a car makes this entirely appropriate, if not compulsory. I like a travel sweet that doesn't involve any double handed work for obvious driving safety reasons so things like Starburst or Maoams are out as they are too fiddly. If the sweet has to be wrapped up you need something loose that can be managed with one hand and perhaps your teeth. Stuff like Werthers Originals or toffees can be ok. Jelly Beans are a good option as they don't melt and you can either dip in one at a time or grab a handful.
