Madness mate. Centrica (British Gas) posting profits nearly 1000% up on the last year then sending letters out to say they’re there for you if you need help. Stop charging me f*cking £300 a month for gas and electric that would help <doh>

I’m in a similar boat where I’m lucky enough to earn a wage that’s significant up here but whilst my missus was on maternity then the period that followed we struggled like f*ck. And I remember sitting there sorting some finances out thinking how are low income families or even though on your average wage actually surviving at the minute this is mental.

Big corporations squeezing every penny they can out of people whilst most of us are taking pay cuts in reality because of the cost of living.
I think like that with things across the board. When someone dies and you get told a funeral is around £4,000 now, where do these people you are talking about find that sort of money?
I know this is not a great question but what is the cheapest way to get cremated now, me and my missus don’t really want to give anyone much money for getting rid of us. We feel the person who’s left need that money more than some stinking rich funeral director. Have you or anyone else got any ideas?
Maybe should be a new thread.

The thing that pissed me off was the fact my best quote on compare the market was from my own insurer. So that 7 ton they added was pure bullshit.

They still didn’t match the new customer quote, even though the first year with an insurer costs them more as they have setup costs, but they were still way below the second best so wasn’t gonna piss off on principle and spend more elsewhere.

I haven’t claimed since 1999.
I once had the same - comparison site quote from same insurer ( same policy but premium version !) was less. I rang company and said just match the price and renew existing. They said , let this lapse and take out a new one. I said change quote and it’ll save you the admin and the comparison sites ‘ commission. Still they weren’t bothered about doing it the simple way

That’ll be some divvy in a sales team paid more for new sales. Unfortunately companies breed that culture and it leads to **** service and the company literally losing money.

A renewal should be higher reward than a new sale.
