To me it's a Rock n Roll symbol for rebellion and non conformity. To others it represents racism and oppression. In certain parts of America this flag and confed statues have been taken down. To me these actions are trying to re write history and shows little respect to the thousands of people who fought and died for the flag and for what they believed in. But that's just my opinion.
Opinions are great....... and in all honesty Pennith when I posted that pic I had consumed 16 cans of ale a splash of vodka and one of those kopparberg cider drinks..
...warming up for today WJ...18 tinnies in the fridge. Have the place to myself, so music blasting. Grandson is being indoctrinated into the peado clan (christening) today. As a pagan I won't go near that ****e.
Don't be daft, do you want me to start another war. Anyway will you watching for England's demise later. Even tho' you have no interest?
Might have on in the back ground. Listening to my fav tunes. Don't get the place to myself that often so got to take advantage.
This is the Flag (Confederate Flag) of the Southern States of the USA back in the 1800's. The Southern States fought under it when fighting the Northern States after Lincoln's Anti Slavery declaration. Can be argued whether it is a flag of hate or not as none of us were around in the middle 1800's, prior to that it was their way of life. Slavery was also happening in other countries too, and still does in some Arab countries. I don't think any of us agree with slavery, but that's back in history, and imo needs to be part of any schools history lessons, just like any other part of history. The egg yolks on legs these days, attacking history from way back when seem to think they can just wipe out history when they want too just cos they disagreed with it. These twats don't seem to understand that we fought 2 world wars, and good people died, both military and civilians which gave them their freedoms too. I think the notoriety come about cos the Ku Klux Klan adopted it as their symbolic flag, which would certainly show it was linked to hatred. As many of us have seen in Britain's recent era, we have people, predominantly non white people calling for our historic statues and flags to be abolished and pulled down, basically they call them Antifa, and the other names they go under. What's ironic is, what happened with the south in the USA during the mid 1800's is also now similarly happening here in Britain with the likes of the House of Lords, Brexit and the dipstick lefties calling us racist every time we eat a piece of toast.
Not saying I'm absolutely right, but I always understood that this flag was their battle flag. The Flag of the Confederacy was different. From (hazy) memory, it was a tricolour with a crest in the centre.
I could ask my Philippine slave to help... Its a bit rich you mentioning dictionaries considering how you Aussies have butchered the Queens English.....
The Flag originated as the flag of North Virginia I think it was, but not as the confederate flag as we now know it, it became the battle flag in the civil war with the north, it had 13 stars representing the 13 states of the south, or CSA. Originally the flags were stars and bars, every time a state joined the CSA another star was added, it was about 1863 that the confederate flag come into being and became the battle flag, and later the emblem of so called white supremacist groups like the Ku Klux Klan. The flag itself is not really a symbol of hatred, but the battle flag the Southern States and soldiers fought under during their civil war. Shaks got it right imo. Anyone remember Dukes of Hazard and the General E Lee car.
