Didn't see anything on the draw so apologies if I missed it but we got Norwich away in our next Capital One Cup Knockout('COCKout' for short) game.

Tough one to be away again and looking out our fixtures it'll be our third away game in a row. Should be another great test for our young and fringe squad players, win or lose.

So lets rockout in the, erm, COCKouts<party>

So who has the full draw? Please post it or let me know where I can find it. So Liverpool win away at Young Boys and now WBA,interesting stuff that. Looks like as I posted WBA have run out of their early season fizz which they've done many times before after a good start. Chavs v Utd? I don't think it will be the spectacle everybody is expecting it to be but it should be an interesting outcome. I can see us getting past Norwich but the early round honours must go to Chelsea,Villa and the goons. Modesty forbids me to name ourselves. I wanted 0-4 but we were close enough. 1-2 at Norwich. Liverpool might take some stopping.

Capital One Cup fourth round draw:

Sunderland v Middlesbrough

Swindon v Aston Villa

Wigan v Bradford

Leeds v Southampton

Norwich v Tottenham

Liverpool v Swansea

Chelsea v Manchester United

Reading v Arsenal

Full draw:

Sunderland v Middlesbrough

Swindon v Aston Villa

Wigan v Bradford

Leeds v Southampton

Norwich v Tottenham

Liverpool v Swansea

Chelsea v Manchester United

Reading v Arsenal

Ties to be played week commencing October 29.

<ok>

If we get past Norwich, and then face a bigger team, will avb play a full strength squad or treat this as a cup for the fringe players/youth?

I think that there's no question that we'll get past Norwich and if we meet a top team then I'd expect AVB to put out a very strong team.
I'd guess,Sunderland,Villa,Wigan,Spurs,Liverpool and Arsenal as certs to go through with the other two matches being more speculative.

Why is there no question that we'll get past Norwich?
We couldn't beat them at WHL in the league.

I'll just delete yours <whistle>

Yeah, it's a difficult balance. My guess would be that we'll have a stronger team out to reduce the possibility of any embarrassing scoreline, especially if it's at home.

That was early season with AVB and the new players finding their feet PNP,since then we've done better. This is also a cup competition where traditionally we perform better. Things are going well and I feel they will get better.

The power of a mod, that puts me in my place!

I guess it depends on if the fringe/youth players put in a great performance against Norwich, yet I would like to see Townsend, Dawson, Siggy, Huddlestone and possibly Smith all start, regardless of who we play.

edit: and caulker (forgot he was classed as a fringe player!)

You're right, it's not assured but teams expecting to fight relegation often field as few first team players as the top clubs do. As I say, win or draw it'll be good for our youngsters.

Our biggest test of the season so far comes on Saturday, let's see how we get on. Hey,I'm being optimistic,it's better than the pessimism that there's been on this board recently,me included but AVB's done alright.

Wigan v Bradford?

Have RL teams been admitted to spice it up this year?

It definitely needs something. I'm struggling to see the point of it when nobody takes it seriously until the final.

Chelsea played with multimillion pound players across the pitch, most of them have CL winners medals too so they've taken it seriously. Your side to a lesser extent also.

I would expect and hope for a very strong team against Norwich as we should have Parker Ade Jake Naughton back by then

if we get past them I'd want an absolutely full strength team out in the Q/F

Had to read Kings comment twice....how far will the COCK go in! <yikes>

This should still be known as the League Cup it lost all its cred when it changed to the Milk Cup.....ffs! <doh>

Sponsors are fine but the FA Cup has sponsors and is still the FA CUP.

The comp has been devalued with all these stupid names...
