Sorry if this has already been covered on another thread but I just wanted to say that I logged into my email to find a message from NCFC about the upcoming match against Tottenham.

£30 for a midweek match ticket! :emoticon-0104-surpr

WTF! Is it just me or am I thinking what the hell are they playing at?

£15 yes, £20 I could push to that... hell I might even pay £25 begrudgingly but £30 for a ticket for the 4th round! It strikes me that if it gets put on live (don't know if they have sorted out who are the live matches yet) then NCFC could well have shot themselves in the foot. That or they are going to let triple the number of spuds fans in to make any kind of attendance!

Am I being crazy or do other people really believe that Spuds are that big a deal that it will make people want to part with that kinda money to see them?
 
No you're not crazy, that's taking the piss! The first two matches were pretty dire, so to expect us to fork out £30 for another potential dire game is just plain daft.
On the subject of ticket prices, a friend said a casual ticket for the Liverpool game was £49!!! Jesus this is getting far too expensive for the normal traditional supporter. They are already struggling to sell the away ticket allocation, and soon I fear there will be more empty seats at Carrow Road. At the Liverpool game there were empty seats either side of me, 3 behind me and 3 more two rows in front. Wether they had been sold and the people hadn't bothered to turn up I don't know but £49 and then not bothering to show is remarkable. I was also chatting to someone who works in one of the food outlets in the City stand today, and she said she's getting fed up being moaned at because the price of food and drink at the ground!
Don't get too greedy NCFC!!
 
I'm not going.

I feel a bit alienated by the club these days. It's hard to be a supporter that attends matches on a casual basis, even the cup games are rip off and normally crap.

I prefered it in the championship to be honest, games Tuesday and Saturday and without all the sensationalist media stuff going on all the time. I DON'T LIKE THE PREMIER LEAGUE! There I said it.

The games are so tense and people are playing with fear all the time. It's horrendous, theres too much at stake.
 
Kemp you are not alone there I really enjoyed the CCC and even the L1 more than the PL but hey we are at the top table so I will try and enjoy it while we are
I have 3 lads to take as well so the price issue is very relevant , might go to the Spurs game but at £30 might just give it a miss

Assuming there are concessionary tickets for your lads let's say £15 each, that's £75. They will probably want something to eat £15, you've got to get to the ground, let's say £10 petrol. car park £6 ? Total estimated cost £106
and that's to go and see a League Cup 4th round tie !!!

How can you justify to your missus spending that kind of cash ? Mine would file for divorce !

Working man's pastime isn't it ? <doh>

great post. agree completely. problem is, the club need to be in the premier league, even if the fans don't.

Well you're probably going to get your wish for CCC football next season kemp:sad:
 
Here I go again - a minority of one!! What do some people want? All summer we had people urging City to buy Rhodes for £8m and £40k a week. We will all want City to enter the market in January. Cup games are the only extra source of income through the gate to the Club and they have to try and make as much as they can. I am sure that at £30 a ticket they will get more than 10k to attend but assume for argements sake that they would get 20k if they only charged £20 and less for concessions. What would that bring in - £350k? After expenses we have to share that with Spurs as there can be no replays. What will we get out of it - £150k? That would pay Rhodes wages for less than a month. We cannot expect to be in the Premiership and pay lower league prices - in my opinion £30 for a cup tie against a top 6 side is reasonable. What do people think they will have to pay if we go all the way to Wembley? Been to the theatre or cinema lately? If you want to stay in the Premiership you have to pay the prices that go with it.

£30 for what is likely to be two sides packed with fringe players is absurd. ignore the plonkers who want league one strikers for £8m - that isn't the point and those people aren't being realistic in their demands. cup games are an ideal time to get people through the gates who cannot go every week and by charging them an obscene amount of money is only going to put them off in future.

missed opportunity to get a full house, full of younger fans going for the first time. most people cannot afford it. £20 i could understand, but this is too much.

£30 a ticket is not good value.

I went to see England play South Africa
in a test match last summer.

£55 for 6 hrs, to see top 2 teams in World.

As I said before,we the fans are now paying
the full cost to sit at the top table.
 
For the olympics I paid £45 to see 2 hours of heats that included some of the best swimmers in the world including Phelps, Franklin, Adlington and Coventry. This included a free rail pass to the Olympic park and free parking for the day. I also paid a similar amount for 8 hours of athletics. It was a great deal.

those are 'once in a lifetime' experiences.

watching norwich ressies vs spurs ressies is not. as i say, the club have missed a golden opportunity with this.

Do you really believe that Hughton will send out anything other than a strong team against his old club? Won't Spurs look upon this competition as their best chance of winning a trophy and put out a strong side? I agree with the principle that it is better to get 20k people at £20 a head rather than 10K at £30 but this is a cup tie between 2 Premiership clubs one of whom is a top 6 side and will surely attract a good crowd even at £30 a ticket. It would be interesting to know what Reading, Chelsea and Liverpool are charging for their all Premiership ties - anybody know? I just don't think that £30 is too wide of the mark and I can only repeat - if you want to watch Premiership players you have to pay Premiership prices.
 
nope, i think they'll both play fringe players, though maybe a few first teamers will be included.

reading are playing arsenal and i believe its kids for a quid. they'll get a full house, a cracking atmosphere and that might be enough to get them through. our game will be played in silence in front of 10-12k.
