<laugh> we got a better chance this time around but only if we strengthen the squad are current squad went out to a very poor Tranmere team in the FA Cup just my opinion though ;)

A good draw. League Cup attendances in the early rounds tend to be low,
but this could be an exception and should bring in some much-needed dosh!

Even if we were away first it would be 2 home games on the bounce!

Any home tie is good, we have a chance to upset Birmingham and if we only get a draw then we get some extra cash

Do we go for it or just use this game as an extra game to experiment to make sure we got everything right because the next game after Birmingham is a derby with Yeovil away!

I'm not bothered with any of the cups anymore to be honest the League Cup doesn't bring in the big crowds anyway the FA Cup only brings in the cash from the 3rd round onwards and JPT is only good if you get to the final so I would much rather have a good solid season in the league and hopefully get at least a play off place.

I remember going up to St Andrews quite a few years ago now to see a rare league encounter between the two clubs and talk about a 'game of two halves' !, there must have been a force nine gale blowing down the length of the pitch for which 'The Blues' had the advantage of in the first period and registered twice whilst Rovers had the advantage of it in the second half and consequently squared the game up, it was all a bit of a farce if I remember rightly.

Leaving the ground afterwards was nothing of a farce though, one of the scariest moments I have encountered in all my years following the Rovers away from home.

I'm going to enjoy the whole lot, to be honest! Last season was a hell of a shock and it's just great to be back in the mix. I think we've got a group of winners now, so they'll probably do ok in the cup competitions too.
