Have just seen on the B.B.C. site that Fabio Capello has resigned with immediate effect from the England managers job. Stuart Pearce is set to stand in for the next friendly match. All of which seems to have come about because of the stand off between Capello and the F.A. over the stripping of the captaincy from John Terry. My questions for discussion are these: Were the F.A. right in taking this action before anything has actually been proved against John Terry ? And, what happens now - should they, for convenience sake, give Stuart Pearce a chance up until the Euros thus ensuring some stability and continuity in the camp, or should they be looking now for a new permanent manager who will be prepared to give youth it's chance and if so who ? Harry ?

I think that with all the media responsibility that also comes with being England captain, I think that the FA did the right thing.
The problem with Stuart Pearce being manager at the Euros is that he also has the Olympics to consider which is probably a bigger job as he has to keep all 4 Home Nations on side.

Pearce will be kicking himself, because under any other circumstances he would definitely be caretaker for the Euros.

I think the fault is the legal system needing so long to make the case. If it was you who made the John Terrys actions you would be in court very fast not in nine months.

I think we need an English manager for the job. We already complain about the number of foreigners taking our jobs, so why would this be different?
I personally think that JT is a twat. He deserves to be kicked out of english football for good. For those who say its not been proven yet, i say bollocks!! You can check all the youtube videos for yourself. He clearly calls someone a Fu**ing Bl**k C**t. I dont want anyone who openly does that associated with my national team the same as i would want any WFC player sacked on the spot!
I think SP is ready to lead, he has done a good job with the U21's and is the old school hardcore manager who would not take any ****e from any players. The England players are too complacent and have come to think of a cap as a right of passage, not as an honor. SP would change that, and bring in the new blood we desperately need.

I am not that sure that it will make that much difference who gets the job. How many of the players that the manager gets to choose from see it as an honour and a priviledge to play for their country now? My suspicion is that the first question that goes through their minds is, what is the match fee.

Why Pardew? When he was linked with us a few people said no way and the same at Newcastle and West Ham, and Southampton and Charlton. Plus i doubt he would leave Newcastle.

I know it goes against the English man for the job, but i would not complain if MoN got the job! I really rate him. But in regards to Pardew, no thanks and Honest 'Arry, maybe. If the cameras can leave his trial out of it now!
If Arry gets the job, I dread to think what our press would say following a bad result. Remember the mauling that GT received and he could write a letter.

Who could possibly want the job. England will not win anything because the players are not good enough or motivated enough. The Manager will always be blamed for the failure to win anything and a good manager could find his career in tatters. The best people would rather manage a good top flight team in any of the major leagues. At least they will get a good job elsewhere after they are sacked.
