Unless that club went into administration and was sold for a pittance... It happens sometimes. He is not nor has he ever been successful, where he's made his millions he's left a trail of financially ruined businesses and the rest were teetering on the edge. Any time he's had a REAL success with a business, ie, he left it in a half decent state, it's been a very small business. You should read the story of how he got to where he is. It's disturbing how unsuccessful he actually is, and you get an idea of the crap we have to put up with. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind any more that we're heading for another administration.
That average was dragged down by low attendances in a couple of cup games I believe, I know I went several times and I could never buy tickets on the day, always had to order them and I think the lowest when I went was 38,500 I believe European matches also had reduced attendances due to safety regulations? Pulled a random one off my first search http://www.emfootball.co.uk/attend2002.html Leeds Min 38,337, Max 40.287 Average 39,788 Unless you are talking relegation year but our Leicester fan was talking about when 'established'.
Ristac - you stated last time we were in the Prem. That was 2003/04. Look it up on the official website what our attendances were. I shouldn't have to babysit you. It averages for league attendances at 36,666.
There's a lot of babysitting going on for anybody who still thinks any of these ideas for business ventures aren't just pissing money down a drain. Same can be said for those jizzing themselves at the prospect of an exciting summer that will never arrive.
So we averaged 36,666 in a relegation season!? That's fantastic! I would be willing to bet a first season back in the PL would draw more fans than that.
Figure of speech, last time we were in the Premiership as in period of time, not the very last season. I thought I had made that clear but obviously not... If you can't see that we were averaging 39k plus when we were performing then bully for you and 36k average for a relegation season is fantastic support. I am not asking for you to baby sit me either you prick, I am starting to believe you just like arguing for arguments sake. Yes there are lots of negatives around Leeds Utd and they are all Bates related. We can't change him as our chairman, the first signing was a decent one, we shall see who comes in next. Until I see the starting 11 and how Warnock has gelled them together as a team I shall reserve judgement but I am not going to be blinded as you obviously are.
No, you didn't make it clear at all. You said "last time". That is, defintively, and no doubt about it, the last season we were in the Prem. You are wriggling, and wrong, and been found out. You're wriggling again. There was no way anyone would know it was a relegation season before it finished, and the highest attendances actually occurred right at the end of the season. Hooray. At last, someone who is unable to hold an argument has finally resorted to calling names due to their lack of intellectual capacity. Applause all round for ristac. Real big clever guy. I have worked out though that you don't bother checking facts, developing reasonable argument or formulating an argument based on evidence. You make stuff up and believe your opinion is fact. Blinded by a lack of faculties. Never mind, you may grow up once you don't need a babysitter
You are blind to the fact that you think "bates is in charge and there's nothing we can do so lets just assume it's the best we can get and he has our best interests at heart. lets just assume that despite the overwhelming evidence suggesting that we're going to get **** all, that Warnock knows how to get blood from a stone and that our entire season lives or dies on the abilities of the manager and no other factors". All you have to do is at least try. Jump on the bates out bandwagon and increase our numbers if nothing else.
If you follow my older posts I am always on the Bates out bandwagon, I would love nothing more than to see him leave but he isn't going anywhere until he is ready. If we invest a few quid and Warnock pulls off a miracle and gets us promoted I will still hate Bates and I won't be happy till he leaves our club. The negative side of having Bates at our club isn't going to change because a few of us moan and groan on a forum, even a few thousand protesting won't change it although I DO ADMIRE those that protest and actually DO something. I wasn't at the protests and a genuine question not a dig; were you? I am not going to allow my hate for Bates to blind me when things are positive though, in my opinion appointing Warnock is a good move, clearing out all those not offered contracts is a good move and those placed on the transfer list is also good. I don't know why Warnock isn't offering Clayton a better contract than he is, I believe it to be gamesmanship but I am not going along with any suggestions that Warnock has been told to sell Clayton. I believe our first signing to be very good, I am hoping we see many more and until there is something to complain and be negative about then I shall refrain from doing so. I am surprised you do not know my stance and feelings for Bates, I have screamed out more than enough about him but I am not going to turn every thread I post on into a Bates out or anti Bates thread as it gets boring.
Sorry if you never understood, I shall attempt to make all future posts LUFC 666 & Elmo fool proof but that could be tricky.
Just to set the record straight, I wouldn't say my disdain for bates is blinding me to the positives, I just have a broader outlook on what constitutes a positive. We're in a situation where our impatient chairman refuses to make any long term plans for the good of the club. This isn't a strategy it is just how he is. Even something as positive as appointing Neil Warnock, I just can't help but see straight through it.
ristac - again you are trying it on. When you originally stated "We were selling out and hitting near capacity every home game last time we were in the premiership," you certainly did not mention that you meant it as a figure of speech, and you certainly never mentioned anything about excluding our relegation year. You ment it as "last time we were in the Prem" ie 2003/04. When I told you that our average was 36,666 in that year, you then started with your confusing rambling and trying to obfuscate. It's not difficult to provide clarity. But it is daft to claim you were being clear when you were being very unclear indeed, because you then started to foolishly trip up over yourself in attempting to "prove me wrong". I'd prefer it if you checked your "facts" before you spouted them
