He has been his own worst enemy this season, he's allowed his personal situation to spill over into his profession, and due to this he was not cutting it, so Laudrup had no option but to drop him, If he wants his place back then simple, fight for it, but you have to wonder whether his recent return to goal scoring has more to do with putting himself in the shop window, and he hasn't wasted any time in doing that, so it seems he wants out in January? My view is we do not want to make the same mistake as we did under Sousa, when he let Dobbie go to Blackpool! The way I see it, he stays till the summer, no way would I want to give a hand to Norwich or Reading in January...................
No need to worry on that front, Harry'll probably have him;might even get the winner at the Liberty 9th Feb, you never know...........;-)
This is absolute nonsense, as is DG's comments about wanting to speak to the manager. FFS, ML plays in the practice games during the week and probably nutmeg's the **** out of him. All he has to do is foul him (which he probably does and that's why he's on the bench ) and say "hey, how about a beer later, I need a word". He knows what the situation is ... he's on the bench because he missed chances, then Michu consistently banged them in and Pablo came on strong and Itay / Moore just link up better. This is not rocket science ... except perhaps to DG.
You'll be well and trully burried by then, arry's no Harry Houdini, Mission Imposible, trap door waiting!.................
If all we consider is his goal against Villa, DG contributed more to the team than Shecter has offered in every combined minute that he has been bafflingly allowed to do sweet FA on the pitch. We know DG scores goals, that is not up for debate, but he and Michu did also link up brilliantly, swapping positions with ease and both winning headers and holding the ball up well. Yes, it is a team game, but could you blame DG for a lack of desire to play for ML when he sees a player who isn't good enough for the championship being consistently played ahead of him? Rather than settle for the bench and take his pay cheque, DG wants to play and if not with us, it will be somewhere else, and that is, if we look at Scott Sinclair as the binary opposite, really something to admire in a player. He's a popular player in the dressing room, and whilst he may have off the field issues that irk ML, I personally couldn't give a hoot as long as he's performing on the pitch. To sell him would be a mistake, IMO, but I would not blame him one iota if he really wanted to leave. Our loss will be another club's gain.
I dont dis-agree with much of that big apple, like ive always said, it very often goes to who is training the best in the week, maybe DG is full of ***s and last nights beer and is getting relegated to third place as a result of this ?? Im not saying that is true just playing devils advocate. I dont want DG sold, i think it is a big mistake as he is a proven goal scorer, but something has happened that doesnt quite fit IMO. Danny was touted by Laudrup as a man who can score goals for us this season but since then there has been something that has changed his mind, ive heard rumblings about his lifestyle being a problem and some personal issues that have made him lose his focus on the football things, i dont know if any of that is true but it would explain why he had his "virus" and dropped out of sight for a while. It also seems strange that DG is talking to SKY without the clubs permission and that he was quoted last week as saying he is prepared to fight for his place and that he doesnt intend to go anywhere !! Something is up i reckon but im only going to be backing one person in all of this and thats the manager. DG for me is a striker i like and should not be sold but i and indeed all of us dont know any of the facts ...maybe Dai knows them !
Sunderland lining up a £5 Million bid http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-position-secure-Swans-striker-Graham-5m.html
Danny has had too many Baron runs to consider him as the No1 striker and he has had plenty of chances under Brendan alone where he should have been dropped quite a few times, He is ok to use in an emergency but he is not a top striker in the premiership (with our style anyway) and may be better elsewhere....
DG has been kept on the bench by one of the top scorers in the Prem. A few inches difference on Sat and Michu would have scored two more. With Michu as a #9, we can play more potent players behind in groups of three - e.g. Pablo / Routledge / Dyer; Pablo / Routledge / JDG and so on - there are many possible permutations. Fact is we are a more flexible and dynamic team with DG on the bench. He's not the fastest, strongest, or most technical forward we have on our books and quite frankly he's never going to pivot from 25 yards out and put one in the top corner, or skin a center-half and cut into the box and drill one, or for that matter score one with his head (against Villa he was offside from 10 yards out with a free header and put it straight into the keepers hands) .... so unless he's sniping outside the 6 yard box its not really going to happen for him - and he misses from the edge of the 6 yard box ..... too many times. That said .... we keep him until obtain better.
Norwich, Aston Villa, West Brom, Reading and Southampton, are all in the chase for him, and now Sunderland are reported as front runners with a 5 Million bid ready to go for him, so the way I see it, Sell,Sell Sell! That's 5 Million in the pot to secure Iago Aspas...... ................. please log in to view this image
Looks like we are selling Graham for new recruits! He's gone in my books now, and Sunderland must be front runners in this................
Never really classed him as a prolific striker in our style of play. hope he does better with whoever gets him as he is a work horse but a rubbish finisher....
Well no, but he got 14 goals in his first Premiership season, not to be sniffed at that, and scored in our last two games, though I think that's more to do with his shop window business, than anything else! Huw will be smiling at £5 Million.......................
£5m will be decent buisness but why risk lettin goal scorers leave and jepordise the £60m on offer for staying in the prem league ?? So far ive read that the following clubs are intrested, maybe bollocks maybe not. Southampton Aston Villa Reading Norwich Sunderland I see every single one of those clubs as relegation rivals and if we sell to them it will only make our job harder to stay in this league,if not this year then next year!! there is a reason to be very saavey here, selling DG is bad for buisness in January, maybe in the summer it will be an option but giving our rivals a proven goalscorer is just sheer madness if truth be told. In Laudrup i trust on this but i want DG to stay at worst it will mean our rivals dont have a proven striker to chase us down with!!
Sell if we have a replacement sorted....we do not want to end up with egg on our faces like Brenda had over Andy Carroll.
My thoughts exactly, we messed up by sending Dobbie to Blackpool when we did, why should we help any of these clubs with this player? Especially in January!
