The problem with all these Forum's is you cannot SEE the other person or hear them , so any sarcasm or gentle teasing can so easily be misconstrued and people get wound up for no REAL reason , yes I am as guilty as most !!! Me I think N606 is great . However . I would Just add that ANYONE who is dissapointed in our percieved lack of signings is a ***T And Puncheon is a Samaritan in his spare time , and we are F****D without him . WINK ......................
Thanks, that's better.......... If you put all negative thoughts out of your mind, I'm positive you could make a differance to the results. It's the negative vibes coming from the stands that cost us points.
I much prefer the posts where people tell us what they are up to or those where new people are just saying hello. But I especially enjoy posts where someone is on a moral crusade. I find all these post about football really annoying. The only ones that have any validity are those that use football computer games to justify new or potential signings. Knowing What "Football Manager" has made of a player in five years time is the only information you need to know. I don't know whay managers bother with an extensive scouting system when they could pick up one of these computer games up for £40.
I never use FM to justify whether a signing is a good one or not, as much as I love the game, but there are far worse ways of getting a first impression of somebody you've never heard of. As it happens FM has a more extensive scouting network than Southampton FC (and most clubs), so much so that clubs (I think Everton are the main one) pay to have early access to the FM database to give ideas of players to scout, and a former head scout at Chelsea admitted he would look at FM to see which players developed well before sending teams off to scout foreign players. So while only an idiot would say "this is a great signing, he's class on football manager!!" there is no problem with somebody having a look to see how good a player they've never heard of is.
I think the mods should ban any negative posts on here, just in case any of the players read them. It might upset them and affect their performance.

I have a better system for judging players than FM. If we sign them, they're great and if we sell them they're shiete. Saves me £40 as well................
I have to admit to being guilty of thinking if they sign for Saints they must be good. As soon as they pull on the red and white, they become part of the Saints family. Not sensible I'm afraid but just me.
"a former head scout at Chelsea admitted he would look at FM to see which players developed well before sending teams off to scout foreign players." That would explain Shevchenko.
Don't you start, you are as bad as the others, if you don't like someones posting use the ignore thread and don't use the reply with quote option as that perpetuates the problem. I reserve the right to be miserable and critical any time I like, so there!
if that is true about scouts paying to use footy manager, then i am suprised! but then it explains tottenham signing gio dos santos!!
It's not a case of "he's good on FM, send him an offer", it'll be more "The FM scouting team saw a player who looked good in the Colombian league, let's go check him out for ourselves"
Nope that's Twitchy's player roulette philosophy - Buy 5 players. One might be good enough. Oops we're paying the other four crazy money for another 4 years. Oh well best move club again before it goes broke. lol
