This is a fact because he cant very well ask for his money back that went to pay debts, that was the reason that cardiff agreed in allowing tan and co onboard in the first place. He took over the debts by his own choice and has been there for a while so how can he take any money cardiff have made as a club....he leaves with only what he is due in shares and that will be paid by whoever buys them. If cardiff can afford to buy them then great but he cant take any money out of the cardiff city's bank...It's not his personal money its the clubs..
 
Now you're getting the point. If he walks he leaves his investment and can then sue for repayment of any uncapitalised loans thus bringing the club down and losing whatever he has in shares unless a buyer can be found.

The futures of Tan and the club are inextricably linked until he can sell his interest.

He wont get very far in the court and would probably wont even get that far, He knew the situation the club was in and he knew what he had to do to take over the club. the debt was his the minute he signed the bit of paper that said he bought the club. He will leave with whatever his personal money he has he cant take the clubs funds as its not his to take. That's the chance these billionaires take, they cant be at a club for nearly three years and leave and put the club back as he found it. it don't work like that, He will take a couple of million but he certainly cant transfer what debt has been paid two years ago to cardiff to himself as he was the one who chose to clear all debts as a stipulation of taking over cardiff. he cant reverse that now however much he try's..

It is obvious no one understands what owning the club entails but we can rest assured Tan does.

Im amazed that people on here have access to all private documents regarding the situation.

Surely no one in their right mind thinks he will walk away and let the club take more money in? All monies will still get paid directly into his bank account from which right now he pays all wages and bills...walking simply means he keeps the money sells the players and pockets the money leaving us to pay it all with no money at all...how does that piece of magic work?

Dai, for someone who has been very close to TWO administration operations, you really are a dull Dai who seems to have learned bugger all. Tan can force repayment and if there is a default, adminstration follows......you will remember that. All assets will be used in a set order to satisfy creditors. There MIGHT be a creditors voluntary arrangement to agree a lower payout but the assets are all sold to the highest bidder. Yes....Tan will lose some money but we risk losing the whole shooting match.....with a landlord for the ground etc etc. Of course, you will see nothing wrong with renting your ground from someone else......i prefer having the sssets under the control of theclub.

Is this true? If so, it puts a different view on Malky leaving. Either he got a payoff or he does not want some things to come out.
ITI......one can be given a budget but still overspend if you spend more than you are allowed. After al, one is not given the money in one's grubby little paws

Not sure you're right there JCK. CCFC is a company with income and expenditure going through its accounts. I run my own business and couldn't get money paid into my personal accounts directly. HMRC would not be happy.

Tan may have personal arrangements outside the club, but club employees (players) will have to be paid by the club through their accounts. Tan paying a chunk of Bellamy's wages will have been an agreement between Tan and Man City not Tan and Bellamy.
 
Frank some know more about football and business finance involving football clubs than we will ever know. One wonders why Portsmouth did not ask some of these learned people to work the same magic at their club.

Tan has lent the club the money in the form of personal loans which he said he will convert to equity, apparently he has waived the interest on the first £50 million.

So Tan owns the club but all the money does not belong to him, so really he owns nothing?

At this rate it turn out that i own the club and get all the money.

All our debts are paid, all our bills are paid all the wages are paid and we had all the new signings all for nothing, we owe nothing to no one.

JCK,

Just because you own a company doesn't mean you can take what you want from it. The loans will depend how they are written, secured etc. as to where Tan would fall in the list of creditors. My guess is top of the list, but it is exactly that, a guess.

As a very easy and obvious example the stadium has a mortgage, therefore the that must be cleared before anyone including Tan could realise any of the capital from it.

For him to demand repayment of the loans in that style would almost certainly require administration/liquidation of the company which is very unlikely to be his best option of getting out with anything resembling his investment.

The Portsmouth analogy you use is most likely if we change owner. It would be very difficult to rape and pillage the £140m back out in that style for Tan.
 
Steve there is not a problem with the fact Tan will make a huge loss but he will not take a full loss and that is why the club will cease to exist.

You are over simplifying something I don't think you understand based on the incredibly limited way you seem to explain it. I have no issue you not understanding the way a business operates, just why are you arguing with people who do?

There is no reason why Tan going = club not existing. There is no saying that another investor wouldn't improve the situation but it is possible they could make things worse too.

My support for him is based on 'better the devil you know' theory though added to the my belief the media have kicked the **** out him fuelled by MM/Moody's camp and our various band of Fans leaders.

Pushing us into admin/liquidation would, I assume, lead him to losing most of his money..

IMO it's better the devil we know too, also I think Mr T is a bit misunderstood. Perhaps a new investor would come in, but if reports are correct were talkin g about a bloke who has put up an obscene amount of money for investment in the squad, these guys are almost as rare as rocking horse ****

Simplifying was a method employed to explain to some that you cannot owe a large amount of money to someone and not be able to pay them because...they will take you to court and make you bankrupt.

All your assets will be taken from you and sold off to pay the person you owe this large amount of money.

This will leave you with £5 in loose change which is not nearly enough to turn the lights on at a football ground so the conclusion is?

However according to some the person will not take us to court and then we do not have to pay him anything.

If he does not take the club to court no one is going to start selling players to pay him back are they?

He can take us to court and get something or do nothing and get nothing and nothing persuades me he will do nothing.

For some reason I trust Tan because whatever happens he loses money.

Thank god only the goalie used to wear a pink shirt...pink forever does not have such a nice ring to it.

Without doubt the most effective way is keeping us in the PL. The rewards just for survival are immense. You could look to extract a percentage of that money then reduce the wage bill whilst maintaining status with the aim of extracting more. This is pretty much the Villa's owners outlook based on the way that club is run.
The club has all sorts of liabilities, not just Tan. Every player has a contract with stated earnings, other loans, mortgage, instalments of transfer fees to be paid etc.
Even if Tan threw his toys out of the pram in the style JCK is suggesting attempting to force the club out of existence is a course of action only a complete moron would choose.
