But how many times has Hughes played the wrong players or made decisions too late, been unable to change the tactics? This is what a good manager does, I have no more time for the guy if we don't get some points in the next games we could be looking at an uphill struggle for survival. 3 points from 27 is terrible.
He has to play Faurlin....as someone earlier said he was magnificent alongside granero at spurs. Put diakite alongside faurlin and its a perfect left right balance. We then get the most out of granero playing further forward where he can hurt the opposition....taraabt/Hoilett either side....frankly the central striker is 50/50 between BZ & DC as neither look convincing.....SWP shouldn't be anywhere near this side....ever...again....why is that so difficult for Hughes to see????
So he didnt pick the right team then. Consensus on here yesterday was that Faurlin and Diakite holding with Adel and Hoilett wide and Granero further up was the team to play. Anyway even if he did manage to pick the right players it wouldnt matter because he setsa the team up in an extremley negative way. After the red card and going behind Hughes had to allow us to go for it and we created chances. If we went at Arsenal today we had a chance Hughes again showed why we cant and havent won away under him. SWP was absolutely terrible again. Again a right midfielder who offered nothing going forward and against their weakk link in Santos. Game changing moment for me was after we were actually getting into it and the anxiety in ground and among Arsenal was building SWP misplaced pass on a chance of a counter put us under pressure. We barely touched the ball for a few minutes then we eventually got the ball back and he did it again. Pressue built from there and soon after Mbia lost his head Mbia is Hughes signing and he has to take some responsibility for bringing another headcase into the team who's got hat in him. Hughes will send us down. Sack him now before its too late
Shame we havent got 11 Faurlins, we,d be top of the league by now.We were top of the league when he got injured at MK Dons and we were top of the league when Hughes dropped him, no sorry no we werent .
Well on the basis that MH Has made bad purchases... Who do you also want to pay up their contracts and sack too???? Why not answer that question too??
I said before the game an underperforming Arsenal side lacking in confidence would be good enough to beat us today and once again i wasnt wrong.
I thought SWP probably had his best game for us today and I would think the reason MH played him today was because there left back is pants.I do agree that SWP has been a major disappointment since he joined but I do not agree that faurlin is the answer to all our problems.
Faurlin was used to illustrate the fact that SWP has done sweet FA since he was signed, earns zillions of pounds week in week out, underperforms every game and still manages to find himself on the team sheet. If I was Mackie I would be pretty pissed off don't you think Ruislip? WTF does SWP have on Hughes?
I am aware of all the shortcomings of SWP and others but one thing that really winds me up on here is why most think that Faurlin is the answer to all our problems. He is no better than most of our current squad.I dont remember to many clubs knocking at the door during the summer asking if he was available. And if the injury was aproblem then theyll be back in January to buy him.We will see.
Are you on drugs? SWP gave the ball away every time he got the ball. He was as bad as he has ever been in that second half and he consistenly put us under pressure, gave nothing going forward. And dont make silly sarcastic comments about Faulrin playing right mid. Everyone there today saw how bad SWP and thats why there were cheers from our section when he was sent off.
I think you can to an extent. If the team foundation is strong, rather than an individual mentality these moments of foolishness are reduced. Players would not act out of favour if they thought about the impact on others. It's just weak-minded individuals and not related to passion.
Again Faurlin was used as an example to highlight the fact that ABSWP!! Anyone but SWP, what really winds me up is the defence of Hughes' inability to pick the right players and to change tactics and his insistence on picking SWP!
These are my views on the thread as we seem to be getting away from the MH debate.I think MH could have done alot better in the transfer market in the summer, some of his signings and lack of signings have baffled me.But I dont think that changing the manager again will do us any good at all. When any new manager comes to a club he always seems to stick with the seasoned pros wether there any good or not.I dont rate SWP but MH obviously does.
