I've just stuffed another wedge on GGG to win by KO/TKO, plus another wedge on the fight to last less than 10.5 rounds

    Come on!

That's ridiculous mate. Boxing is just two people having a straightener wearing big gloves then.

You clearly dont understand the amount of skill and discipline required in martial arts. Having a solid ground game is an art. Boxers need to learn how to box. Boxing is just one skill that a mixed martial artist has to learn.

The rules are there in black and white. I think it must just be vague to you.

Covered my bet in the 7th with GGG to win on points. If this goes against him it's the most bent decision ever

I didn't stay up for it but if the judge was genuinely bent, why score it so ludicrously in his favour? A 115-113 and it would have been just about plausible based on what I've read of the fight.

    You'd be wrong though.

MMA is for mugs who can't box.

Wouldn't bet on boxing for those very reasons ... love watching the olympic boxing but some of the judging there had me raging too.

MMA bit too homo erotic if you ask me :emoticon-0136-giggl

Just watched the fight, couldn't be arsed at 4 <laugh>

I think a draw was fair enough to be honest. I had it 115-113 Golovkin, but Alvarez was class and was picking his shots better.

First 5 rounds GGG was punching from too far away, through a combination of being hit hard early with bodyshots which clearly made him wary, and Canelo moving well, and most of those must have gone to Canelo. After that Golovkin came on strong but Canelo went toe to toe with him at various points. GGG did about enough through sheer number of punches, but I can see how someone scores it 114-114. The 118-110 was nonesense though.

Great fight, can't wait for number 2!

Mixed martial artists do a different form of boxing, out of necessity to stop kicks. I wouldn't say one sports is necessary more technical than another, because an MMA fighter may have more skills over more disciplines, but I will note that the amount of people I see doing Karate or Kung Fu (ie ****ing zero) underlines how mixed the martial arts on display really are.

I would back any decent boxer to absolutely destroy an mma fighter in his division in the ring, and I'd probably say the same of an mma fighter going into the octagon with a boxer.

I don't know what's worse? The result of the fight, which GGG clearly won or the fact that they announced Canelo as the 'lineal middleweight champion of the world' despite GGG holding the WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO belts?

If I was GGG I'd tell De la Hoya to go **** himself if they want a rematch and go after BJS and destroy him to become the Undisputed MW champion with all of the belts, despite what the Ring Magazine bellends think.

Boxing is now a ****ing joke <grr>
