Real shame Tierney got injured, think he would have been a contender after how he was playing?

in fairness to croft he only it because he was the least crap of an appalling bunch of players. when you also have 15 loans in including Sibierski and Koroma it was the worst shower to pick from ever. They should have given it to the fans.

Looks like Holt's going to get it.

Personally I'd go for Fox. I'm really worried that he's out of contract.

Yes, Holt is a great captain and leader. Yes he has scored some very good goals this season, BUT, in my opinion he has also made some silly mistakes. For that reason Ruddy gets my vote.

I think he has saved us more points than Holt as won us. It is very close though.

not sure i agree with that. you only need to check out the goals holt has scored and how many points they've earned us. i read somewhere only van persie's goals have gained his team more points than holt's for us!

JR has played in every league game bar one, i.e. 29 so far, and will likely play in the remaining 8 games. Holty has made the same number of appearances, but 11 as substitute. I think the award should go to JR for consistently making a major contribution game by game through the season.

Unfortunately there are people who don't think about it and just go for Holt or Hoolahan. Not that they don't deserve it but there are other great players to consider this season.

Tierney would get it, I feel, if the season ended when he got injured but for me it has to be John Ruddy. So many fantastic saves that have kept the points for us.

I read that too supers, but Ruddy's not in a position to score goals. He has probably earned us far more points in goal than Holt has.

its natural for goalkeepers to play more games! i genuinely believe that although ruddy has been excellent its a tribute to how well the rest of the team has done that he has not been called upon that often to perform miracles. he has been rock steady but only outstanding in two or three games because thats the only times he's needed to be. i don't care what anyone says - its goals that win points and keep you up. if you can't stick it in the onion bag you won't win games and holt has been, yet again, the talisman. even when coming off the bench, how many games has he turned in our favour through his impact? without ruddy we'd be lower in the league. without holt we'd probably be bottom. it honestly should be a no-brainer but there are decent rivals for the trophy, ruddy being his closest rival i would think <ok>

Swing for show-putt for dough. Turnover for vanity-profit for sanity.
Goalkeeping is the only position on the pitch different from the others. Make a mistake and you're compared to your predecessor. Trip a player and you're sent off more readily than booked.
Miss a penalty and its forgotten. You can get that back by scoring later.
Keepers never really get the headlines and strikers get all the plaudits. They always show George Bests goal against Benfica in 68 but they never show Stepney saving point blank range to take the game to extra time.
I would give it to Ruddy, not only on merit, but as a reward for the back 5 who have been pilloried this season as not mobile enough, not clever enough and in fact the weak link in the team whereas there has been nothing but praise heaped on Holt, rightly so, for his goalscoring.

Grant Holt or John Ruddy for me. However, neither have shined as much as Huckerby did in his premiership season for us so would be tempted to vote for Hucks if you can (dont know if he'd be on the slip or not???) There are so many players who have been heroic this season though so will be happy whoever gets it no doubt. Lets hope we have a real good end to the season so Lambo pips Rodgers and SAF to the manage rof the season award.

Who do you reckon has been worst manager? Dalglish, AVB or Connors? Got to be Dalglish I reckon... snigger
