Well, we had the chances thanks mostly to Snodgrass hitting the free kicks in dangerously but we were not good for most of the game.
What today clearly showed is we are lacking uptop, morison was hopeless and its a problem that needs to be addressed... Look at the players WBA could call upon, compared to who we could! It was fun while it lasted and thankfully it happened, cause were not going to be picking up many points in the coming weeks.
A bit pissed off as obviously you should never lose after taking the lead. But, on reflection, this is OK. We haven't had any ground made on us by the bottom three and West Brom are a good side. I just hope the Baggies don't continue their bad form after this game as that would perhaps show up that we should have done better. The unbeaten run was never going to go on forever though.
Jackson should certainly have come on earlier. I am not knocking Morisson - I thought he did well in the first 60 minutes - but as soon as we were chasing the game someone quicker needs to come on so that they can't relax in defence.
I thought we played well and rode our luck at times. Their 1st goal should never have stood, but let's hope we up our game for the rest of this year!!! No negativity from me!!
Another great thread CS, but I'll defend any player who wears the yellow and green. I didn't watch the game today (how much anyone can tell from a crappy internet stream, I'm not sure though) but we all know Morison has quality about him. He gave everything the last time he played, against Villa, and was sensational at the start of last season. Yes, he hasn't been in form for a year now, and maybe he's just a bit too low on confidence to every score regularly for this club again, but he isn't ****.
The real positive from today is that we're still 10 points clear of 18th and have a far superior goal difference.
I'm sorry, I've tried to defend Morison but I can't anymore. As Trevor Francis said on the commentary, he has no mobility. His positionin the team affected everyone else's position I'm afraid. Poor old Wes looked like a lost soul, he had no-one to work off and consequently Tettey was trying to play passes that were never on. Their back four had time and space to spread and our wide men were double teamed so much of the time and Snodgrass did well to have much impact. It was a poor display all round but I think there was good reason.
I thought he would grasp the opportunity to show what he's capable of today (ie - the type of player he was in the early part of last season), but IMO, he did nothing to prove to CH that he's an able deputy for 'the Horse'!!! Quite honestly, I hope he's not even on the bench for our next few games and would like to see Harry Kane given the opportunity instead.
