They have to know when to push up and when not to, though. Yesterday both FBs were high towards the end of the game when we should have been closing it out.
Klopp was clearly very frustrated with the defending, so it can't simply be that that is the way he wants them to play. I'm sure he expects them to make intelligent decisions as to when to push forward and when to hold back. Unfortunately intelligent decisions aren't always amongst footballers' stronger points. He's going to have to spell it out to them.

As for Lucas, no-one gets everything right, so you have to weigh up the positives against the negatives to see which comes out on top, and that's always going to be subjective. I don't think we have anyone who can do a better job atm.

You're right - we don't have anyone better and that's the problem. He's a poor DM and he's not even a natural one. We need to buy for that position.

But re the full backs - you're right. Need to do better.

Moreno has been consistently poor at defending all season but i think both him and Clyne are struggling with the physical demands of playing as attacking FB's with the number of games we have been playing with no rest.
The description on Sunday Supplement of our defensive woes was funny ,(apart from the fact it was no exagerration)
"everytime the ball was lumped forward they couldn't have shown less appetite to win it unless they pulled their shirts over their hads and ran around shouting TAKE COVER "

    something like that anyway <whistle>

did love our 3rd goal well worked and coolly finished by Firm who has been the one bright spot in the last few PL games

It was brilliant and the best thing about it was that he passed it first time. He didn't just get to the ball and dwelled on it. He got to the ball, spotted Firm and played it quickly and perfectly.

He's still not good enough to start but along with Benteke, he may have a role as impact sub.

If Klopp celebrates like this when we win 3 points against Norwich. God knows what he'll be like WHEN we win the league. <badger>

Talking of BBC Salford, as we weren't, did anyone see MOTD bemoaning Norwich's non-given pen by Milner (fair enough), but no mention of Bassong's drag back of Firmino IN THE BOX, or little said that Bassong was offside when that ball was punted forward for the fourth? Okay, the latter has a sort of argument about the second phase, but the pen?

Anyway, good weekend, and as Tobes might say:

:emoticon-0159-music Well I never felt more like singing the Blues, when Liverpool win and the Blueshite lose,

And I heard, The Saints beat Uniturd. :emoticon-0159-music

i know wrighty went on about it a bit, but wasn't sure if that was a strikers opinion on it or not, as we would have had the opposite if a defender was there as a pundit.

  11. Milner's was poor imo, far too close to the keeper who basically let him score!

  12. Was that the one started by Firmino near half way with a flick to the left? Lallana and Milner (I think) linked up before putting Firmino back in? Nice finish too?

If so, that was a superb team goal although I would also have to question the defending lol

Milner did do well. Their defensive line was poor playing us on. Firmino showed he can finish well after earlier games where he did get it under control so he's shown he can shoot from outside the box and be cool inside it in recent games.

Milner put him in for his scuffed first and played a good fast pass to lallana to cross fir second.. as I've said countless times quick one and two touch is vital in the prem in making chances.

I'd love to see 3 Brazilians playing one touch for lfc.
