How'd he look in his brief appearance? In our discussion of DM options earlier, I completely forgot we'd signed him.
A couple of quotes from Stewart Lewis' article on MFW which I feel are quite pertinent - "We can’t play as we did against Sunderland or Villa and hope to succeed, of course. On the other hand, Huddersfield’s form in Wagner’s first few months was at least as patchy, and less worthy of confidence than Farke’s start. I fully understand and respect if others aren’t as convinced as I am that Daniel Farke – with the backing of Stuart Webber and Steve Stone – will lead us to success. But it’s surely a change that demands some patience and understanding from us. And not just when we win." #couldnthavesaiditbetter Full article here - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...way-we-can-tangibly-help-our-club-to-succeed/ PS - For anyone who is free Friday evening, our under 23s are playing Stoke under 23s; tickets are FREE and kick off is at 7pm
I like the way Farke comes across in interviews, seems so much self assured than AN even without the bluster.
He has an honest directness which I like, along with his consideration of the players. This from his post match interview: “It is quite important not to be too predictable. We need a mix, to control the ball, to control the game. We want to be precise with our passing but sometimes you also have to chip the ball in behind and use pace when the opponent concentrates too much on the passing style. We want to be good on counter actions as well and in that topic Josh is a threat.” As for last night, I put this on the wrong thread so I'll repeat it here: Really pleased at the way Josh has responded to his chances this season after his strong finish in the later matches last season. Watkins made a good case for being our 3rd striker with his goal and an assist and Trybull getting a debut goal was a nice way to round things off. 20 shots, 9 on target is a good response to the Villa disappointment. Having seen the goals now, Charlton's goal was better than described but Josh really seems to have fire in his belly now. Watkins looks like he could be the 'poacher' type striker to complement Jerome and Oliveira. He also seems to be quite a team player.
I was at the game last night and tThe players who impressed were - Stiepermann, Tettey, Hoolahan (Trybull 77), Maddison, Murphy, Watkins and for me, Josh deserved MotM. Both Franke and Martin did OK, but I feel they may struggle against sterner opposition in the next round. Naismith was a massive disappointment – I expected more from him following his article about ‘repaying the NCFC fans’ and on at least 3 occasions in the 2nd half, he should have had a shot at goal rather than passing to someone else.
I have just ordered 2 tickets on the off chance one of my mates wants to go. There may be a spare going. Pre match beer JMF ?
