I cant believe that your posters cannot grasp the fact that the "best team" do not always win and are not always top?...Can you not see it.. Hold on...We we top of the the league earlier on so are we the best team, or are you now bwcse you are top..? Is it really so hard to comprehend?..Thread really does go a long way to explaining what your posters believe..... I had a lot of respect for most....you've just managed to dispell that with your total lack of football knowledge..... Is there anyone on this board that has or does play football at any decent level...or am i trying to explain the game of association football (Thats where the name Soccer came from by the way...just to educate you a bit)..am i trying to explain the game to a bunch of watchers, supporters and wanna be's
Ah, but if it's winning more points that you're hanging your hat on, I bet there's a similar maths thing that can be applied as the one that works in tennis. The top players actually win less points than the people they beat...but that wasn't my point, my point was that at a given point in the season, the team at the top is not necessarily the one you'd back to be the best team for the rest of the season. So being top doesn't automatically make you the best team, only the best at some point before that. As another example, if we played the first Friday of the season, with everyone (except our opponents obviously) playing Saturday, assuming we win, we'd be top. Best team in the league? Anyway, I'm here to defend my mate Queen Slander.
Queenie ... nicely dodged ... no explanation of how you would judge the best team ... please do have a go I can't wait for more of your philosophical insights I'm a long time retired from playing Queenie but did play to decent standard ... but can't see the relevance to the discussion tbf ... I certainly was never deluded enough to think I was in the 'best team' if we didn't actually win anything 'tho If your whole argument is that, in a particular football match, an inferior team can get lucky and beat a superior one, then agreed ... but that is miles away from what you are actually contending ... we are more than half-way through a season - if being top by eight points, having won 5 more games than our nearest rivals and being on a 10 match unbeaten streak, winning nine in a row does not entitle us to recognition as the best team in the division AT THIS POINT IN TIME ... then I don't know what will ... but you tell me? ... who is the best team? ... now don't just come back with another post on how we fail to understand your philosophical altruism ... put your money where your mouth is and tell us, who, in your esteemed opinion is the best team in the championship RIGHT NOW???? ... why is it that I doubt you'll be coming back with a straight answer
... carry on like that and I'll start hoping you get relegated so you can continue your budding relationship with him on here next year
Pfft, I'll leave that to Ms Slander to answer, no problem putting his moth and money together on that one I'm sure. Get 'em tiger.
The best tea in the league is deffo Tetleys.... and then in a further post Queenie, you say 'We we' - obviously too much Tetleys. Or were you just taking the piss?
No Foss, Im not gonna dodge anything. Ive already said that Burnley, Forrest and Yourselves are the best teams in the league...no doubting that 7 as you are the most consistent then you are top. The point i watrying to put across is that the "best" team is not always the team at the top.....Think Chelsea & Man utd, Think Gunners & Blackburn.. i totally repsect yor position at the top of the league and you deserve to be there based on performances..good luck to you..But are you the best team i've seen in the league..I'd say probably Burnley based on performance, style tactics and entertainment value. That i an honest opinion that's not biased....I personally would rather watch them than you, but id also rather watch Arsenal then Man utd. I applaud you fr your performances this year and you (probably) deserve to go up....But you need to take your head out of your arses and accept that practical football is not always the most attractive. Your opinion will obviously be biased so i'll only accept 50% of what you say but the big picture is..you may very well be in the prem next year (and good luck to you) a bit of humility is a good thing....... EDIT...Have I said that before somewhere?
Pointless debate to be honest, we will know who are the best 2 teams are in 2-3 months as they will be the ones getting automatic promotion. It really is as simple as that.
Absolute rubbish mate..but then aain that depends on what you use to decide the "best team" tag Best footballing side - Burnley most consistant - leicester Most expensive - QPR Best support - Leeds/ Brighton Best atmosphere - QPR Most likely to score - Burnley Best defence - QPR Most points- Leicester Facts are..you are the most consistant and have the most points....does not mean you are the best team...anyone who has actually played any sport above high schoollevel can understand and acknowledge that.. Maybe you should give it a try boys ?!!
Queenie How can Burnley be the most likely to score if both us and Derby have scored more goals then them
Queenie pull your head out your arse QPR are nothing more then an expesive car crash waiting to happen
Rubbish? Could say the same about some of your bizarre opinions of late Queeny...very odd. As for some of your "opinions" I'm not sure how on earth you come to your conclusions sometimes, maybe its too much of that cat piss beer they serve in Oz. Best footballing side - Burnley (How many time have you watched Burnley play a full 90 minutes this season to come to this conclusion?) most consistant - Leicester (Correct for obvious reasons) Most expensive - QPR (Correct NO DOUBT ABOUT THIS ONE!) Best support - Leeds/ Brighton (On average attendances I assume) Best atmosphere - QPR (Biased opinion and with 11,000 supporters doubtful!!!) Most likely to score - Burnley (WHY??? Leicester have scored 7 more goals than Burnley, Derby have scored 8 more than Derby, Forest 3 more than Burnley ) Best defence - QPR (If you are going on Stats for goals conceded then correct, but if you are going on individual players then certainly NOT!!) Most points- Leicester (hmmmm tricky one! haha)
Sorry, i mistakenly thought i was talking to people / ex playerho knew something about how the game is and shold be played.. I was very obviously wrong a group of fans that have had no voice or valid opinion over the past 10 years, suddenly are top dogs I appologise for trying to have a sensible conversation with you You are obviously the best...even though most fans prefer to watch Burnley, QPR have the best defensive lrecord, forrest is a fortress, tripian is the best defender in the league...etc.... I put my hands up, I was wrong..I actually accepted LCFC fans as some who understood football......sadly wrong... Yes you may win the league..but ask any supporter outside your own club..(Arsenal. Chelsea, Burnley) etc..IT DOES NOT make you the best team in the division..I hope you continue as you wil find out the hard way (as our idiots did) exactly what that entails... Food for thought We went uop with Swans & Norwich... Look at us and lok at them..........
