talking to the Toon on the way back to the train they were not pleased that we were wearing green either, they wanted to see a splash of colour not us blending in withe pitch!, also got comments about why did you sing come on you yellows when your team are wearing green, had to tell them it was a Nofolk thing ! lol
thanks for the prediction bitter Mike that means we are defiently up for a top 10 finish next year now!
I was always told you should never go to sea in a boat painted green! On the other hand, both David McNally and Paul Lambert, as ex-Celtic men, probably feel comfortable with it. Personally I'm superstitious about superstitions: I avoid them at all costs. It's paid off well so far -- touch wood!
I think that title has to go to the green and black striped one we had last time round in the PL, we had it for two seasons and didn't win a single game in it
Apart from the half wits at the FA insisting on it, WHY do we need an away strip? Perhaps we couldn't be distinguished from the BLACK & WHITE of Newcastle, or the BLUE & WHITE hoops of QPR, or the RED of Arsenal/Liverpool/ManU, etc. We are Norwich City, we play in Yellow and Green, and in the East of England we are the superior team. <faintwiththeeffortofcomingupwitharhyme> ILD OTBC
I can understand an away kit for wolves, but why on earth do we need it for 5 games a season or whatever it is?? it has the same sponsors and make so i just dont get it??
Not so, the contract with the shirt sponsors and manaufacturers is that the away strip MUST be worn a minimum of 5 times a season. ICHB, you're right, that it really only needed to be worn against Wolves, but apparently they're the rules!!! Yes, you've guessed it - we're due to get new sponsors next season, so more shirt sales to generate revenue!!! Hopefully, that will stay the same for 2 seasons though.
But who decides what the strip will look like? A bloody committee must have decided this one. Why can't it just be a reverse of the yellow strip?
but that's a contact we as a footy club signed, nothing to do with how many times we need to wear it because of clash of colour. indirectly it may mean more shirt sales.
A little stat attack about the green kit! So far the 3 other sides we have played away against in the green apart from wolves is Sunderland, Newcastle and QPR... All of which we beat at home! Lets hope it continues with wolves
Apparently the '5 times a season rule' applies to ALL clubs and is not just due to a clash of colours.
