The trouble is without Hoilett or Taarabt, he wont have any ammunition except for the blanks given to him by SWP and Park.
Blimey, we're in danger of agreeing something on this strand. 4-3-3 is the most suitable option given our current player availability and our struggle to keep from conceding goals. I do not believe that Zamora is the best option in such a system however. Overwhelm them from midfield with the two sets of 3 highly mobile and linking up. I also agree with DT that Park must be worth a go at full back given the awful form of Onouha.
SWP against West Ham was OK IMO he was for example involved in a super slick move on 12 minutes than Granero skied . SWP IMO is doing very well and i can understand MH picking him there and hence the odd position for Park ... who has to play and is good enough to play anywhere on the pitch ... This i believe is close to the solution some of here seek. SWP is contributing well to the team and holding down his position on merit ... Park I agree looks strong on the left but as said SWP is keeping him out.
At least 433 is flexible enough to become 4231 when defending and stops us being over run in the middle, but off course that means that both Adel & Hoilett have to their share of defensive work as well as springing forward. i would also prefer BZ instead of Cisse as he holds the ball up so much better and brings the others into play. BTW good thread.
Are you alright? This is the second thread I've seen you posting formations on.........weird scenes inside the gold mine. If everybody understands their role and executes it effectively, of course all three can play together. And with a better defense and centre mid pairing than we had against Swansea, it would be fun to watch.
SWP hasnt done a thing, no goals, no chances and no assists. Thats what attacking midfielders are there to do. If hes dropped, Park will play better than SWP in the RW slot and Hoilett or Taarabt will play better than Park in the LW slot. We improve 2 positions just by dropping him. I know its bad to say but Id be quite relieved if he got a season ending injury as it would improve us massively. Ive got nothing against him personally except the fact that hes an incredibly **** footballer who hasnt got a clue what to do with the ball hence why nearly all his shots are blocked or he just turns round in circles until he loses it.
Yep it's to show the world what I know about football ... I have missed it plus I am hoping to help a few of the infected to see things more positively ... I thought about the Javis goal how do you defend that? ... Hill missed his tackle, Nolan's shot was heading for Mars and spinning like a UFO. before it lands on the status head of Javis who heads it for Cole and is spins in... What formation stops that? Flyer claims it was SWP's fault ... action is required
Maybe you are right I get your point but SWP is a class act at times and MH rates him and is backing him to come good based on i suppose his training and his form running into the season was first class. I believe overall its all coming together
Not with him, he was shocking all last season and he hasnt had a single good game since hes been here. Hes appalling and offers us nothing except running round like a headless chicken. How many years do you back a 30yo to come good before realising hes really very, very crap.
He did ok but very nearly lost us the game. The problem is we have no supply to the forwards and SWP and Park on the left offer no threat at all. Ive never see either one beat a man. It took Taarabt seconds to do that and run at players when he came on. Im fine with giving Park a few games on the right to prove himself but SWP has proved himself not good enough with the last 18 months worth of games, all in his favoured position shunting better players out to the other side or onto the bench.
So who would be captain, Park does not play but Taarabt does then why not give him the captains armband again? We might even see him bag some goals against the baggies.
I did like the way he consoled Diakite. There might just be a captain in there if he can consistently drive the team forward like he did on Monday. Just thinking about it, Tarbs also passes the ball like Gerrard in terms of technique. Don't know why but it just occurred to me.
In my opinion you just can't play Cisse out wide. When he's played there for us he's been ineffective and got 1 in 18 for Lazio playing out wide. In my opinion the only you can do it is playing 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 whichever you prefer. ------------------Cesar-------------- Boswinga----M'Bia-------Nelsen----Fabio -------Granero---Diakite----Faurlin Hoilett------------------------------Taarabt ----------------Cisse----------------------- But lets be honest if we have to play only one up top Cisse is not the target man we're looking for. BZ has been phenomenal this year so Id definitely stick him in instead at the moment as much as I love Cisse.
You've sold it to me, I'm in!! Let's batter the baggies with skill and do 'em 2-3 away! BTW SB nice name checking of the Doors 'The End'. As the Lizard King says, 'the West is the best'. Too bloody right Jimbo
In a word, no, unless chasing the game late on. Cisse isn't capable of being the one up top and should only play with Zamora. If that's the case then playing the two of them up front with Hoilett and Taarabt on either wing would leave the midfield horrendously exposed. Cisse on the wing doesn't work.
