Why don't you **** off the team and manager are easily superior to 2008 the league is harder brownie got Lucky but you cant see that can you
Not sure if the TWF person on here is the same as the Tony M on the sporthull message board but as they hold the same views then it probably is which is really annoying because the reason I have been reading this site more than sporthull lately is to get away from the constant arguing and name calling that those posts create. Can I just suggest that if you don't like what TWF is writing then just don't bother commenting back because in the end it just drives people away from the messageboard.
Luck had a small part to play but doesn't it in any game. To put Hull City's promotion down to Phil Browns luck is totally disrespectful to the whole management team in 2008 plus all the hard work, skill and determination of the whole squad.
Thought not therefore i shall ignore you as a an idiot with no intelligence whatsoever. bet you thought Brownie would have kept us up as well? when every indication and histotical result against the teams we had to play in the run in said we were down. and of Course brown had nothing to do with the signing or wages of the players did he? Pretty sh@t manager then! Bet 'saw' ALex knows every detail of his signings
We'll soon know if we can match the 2008 season - we've been behind the 2008 total by a single point pretty much since Christmas - it's been pretty disturbing actually how much - points wise the seasons have matched each other - we weren't that far behind even when things were going wrong earlier in the season. The one thing I remember about the 2008 season was the March that we had. P7 W6 D0 L1. That was when we really made up ground on the play-offs. If we are going to match the 2008 season - then we need to keep having similar results.
I reckon we need something similar to 7-2-2 over the last 11 games. A big ask but not impossible. That would leave us on 75 points and that would probably be enough to scrape 7th this season. Can't see us going unbeaten until the end of the season (6-5-0) so we realistically need to win at least 7 of the remaining 11. Chuffed with the result today but still think it's a step too far. We still have to play too many of the better teams and I can't see our luck holding.
just as well your doing maths twfy because englisgh isnt your strong point. phil browns initials are spelt pb not ap. mind you logics not your strong point either so i'm assuming your really good at sums or angle or somthing.
If NP sorts the midfield out then we can easily do as well as we did in 2008, especially as we have a few games against the top sides. We takes points off them and it makes the job easier. Today Evans played well, Koren quite well and so did Harper but they are going to have to gel more than today if they are going to give our forwards decent chances. A lot more. And we need to see more of Nick Barmby.
I rate Pearson much higher than Brown, I rated Brown as good (before he lost the plot). AP does want us to be successful. As for the players..... 2008 vs 2011 Myhill versus Mannone Ricketts versus Rosenior Turner versus Gerrard Brown versus Chester Dawson 2008 versus Dawson 2011 Garcia versus Koren Ashbee versus Harper (2008 Ashbee not 2011 Ashbee) Hughes versus Evans Barmby versus Simpson Campbell versus McLean Windass versus Fryatt (sorry Matty, I can't forget the Wembley wonderstrike) I make it 6-5 to the 2008 vintage (although I was very close to calling the Windass/Fryatt duel a draw but my heart wouldn't let me). Imagine if we combined the two teams: Mannone, Rosenior, Turner, Chester, Dawson, Ashbee 2008, Evans, Barmby 2008, Koren, Windass 2008, Campbell with Fyatt, Gerrard, Myhill, McLean, Simpson, Ricketts on the bench. WOW. So altogether a poor post TWF, not even good trolling!
By the way Maths degrees are not what they used to be. York University have been doing research on the ability of mathematicians joining them by giving the same assessment every year for 10+ years. Their findings showed that mathematical understanding had declined. The strongest group I taught at GCSE level gained 8 A*, 19 A and 1 B grade back in 1998. In 2008 another top set I taught gained 27 A*, 4 A and 1 B grade. The 1998 class were much better despite the lower grades (and my teaching hasn't got that much better in 10 years). Going to uni to study anything does not make anyone bright. I've been and I'm no genius.
So, Horsham, as a front-line exponent, are you in the camp that says dumbing down has taken place in education, then?
A very well thought out reply Horsham & I agree 100% with your team comparison's! Respect to Brown that year, but NP is a very good manager who knows how to prepare a side to get results as well. It does at least prove we have a great chance, if we can get the crowd to be as loud as that season as well we could just carry the team through!
Sagee, I think we all know the answer to that one, however as part of my job description "I couldn't possibly comment" (anyone ever watch House of Cards?) Have a read of the TES maths forum (although, then again, don't!)
What about that pass form Chester yesterday? Did he really mean to do that defence splitting pass? What a finish by Fryatt!
"You might say that, but,....." Recently re-read the book, one of the BBC's all time classic drama's. On the first part of your reply, can I have multiple choice answers?
For Gods sake does your mouth turn down at each end constantly & is your glass always half full. You should come under the consumer goods act (defective)then at least you would have been replaced by now. The stats show we are in line with our achievments when we got promoted and after all if i'm honest looking back i don't think you could say we had a Prem capable side then. It's the team and manager at the time that will get you where you deserve to be Prem or not. If NP gets us promoted then he will have achieved exactly the same as PB did at this stage,if we stay up the same applies again and so on... As for preformances against results if you watch the official DVD we were awsome but in reality we were not always that good under PB.
