Yes mate, that was a joke :)
PleaseNotPoll, Chelsea offered Spurs MORE than 50 million for Modric, I dont recall this.
If we did and you turned us down, then whoever made that decision needs shooting.

Chelsea offered more than your valuation of £25-35m.

Well we do have a tendency to offer more than the going rate, given our owner is Moneybags McGee.
I dont see him, or any other club, paying 50 million for him though.

We kept him for an extra season, had a crack an CL qualification. Succeeded/failed. I'd doubt we'd get more than the £40m now as we're in a worse position (in that he's been "prisoner" for an extra year now).
I'd expect Levy to turn down anything below £40m from Chelsea as a matter of course, but possibly accept lower from abroad or another English club.

  5. From a reliable source at Heathrow, Bale was due on a flight to New York this lunchtime with the rest of the Welsh team - despite having withdrawn from the squad yesterday.
Maybe he's changing codes and joining the Giants!!! <bubbly><bubbly><bubbly>

SOS - "I'll decide on my future after the Euro's" have surfaced I have no idea as he hasn't a choice in the matter.

Not necessarily, I believe modric when he said he had a verbal agreement, I also think Levy is honourable too. We do not know what was said in that office, no one does, so don't get swept away with 'reports', but don't be surprised if it went something like "give me one more year then I'll listen if you still want to go"...Modric's done that.

If he's seen drinking a can of Red Bull, panic.

There is very little point in continuing to try and hang on to a player who is determined to leave. IF Modric really does want out that badly, then it would be best for all concerned that Levy cut the best deal he can, and let him go. We can then use the money to buy somebody who does want to play for us.

I agree. If he wants to go we need to sell him now and concentrate on getting a replacement asap. If it drags on till the end of the window or disrupts our season again I will <doh>
