We wanted him to stay.

From what I hear you guys dont rate him!

We would take him back for 7 million - So the question is would you sell him back to us?

I would sell him back for £7 million

Been so so for us to describe him as a failure would be harsh
will always remember great goal in cup against man u

Wouldn't describe him as a 'failure', he's only been here 5 months but he was always a stopgap measure till we get a world class player for that position IMO. I would definitely give him another chance next season.

It'll be interesting to see how he gets on with Jose! Nando is improving by the game and we may still get Lukaku back, so there's going to be a great scrap for places!

I dunno. Compare and contrast the effectiveness and threat of Tevez/Aguero with Ba/Torres in our recent stateside double header with City. Actually, there is no comparison...

Personally I don't buy into this 'giving more time' kind of thing. Sure time is needed to rediscover form, but class is permanent, and you can often see the underlying class of a truly great player within a few games. The fact we are still questioning whether or not Ba has that inherent class just about says it all. Face up to it - he's not good enough to support our ambitions (as a main striker anyway).

There are many more still hanging hopes on Torres. Neither are good enough to lead us to title challenges but Ba is perfect as backup.

Here in lies the problem. Torres, Ba and Lukaku (certainly until he gets a bit more experience) all look solid strikers but not the level of the 4 guys at the Manchester clubs (aguero, tevez, rvp, rooney). Therefore I think to challenge next year we would need a top level striker plus 2 of the 3 others (assuming we play one up top again).

Lewandowski should be priority as would probably be in the 20-30 million bracket as opposed to the 50 million one (Cavani and Falcao). Dortmund would surely prefer to sell to us.

I think he's good but definitely not great. With Lukaku returning hopefully, and Schur?? probable, can't see a reason to keep him.Torres did score a few in the season, and has started to look like a good link player so I suspect he will not be kept.

Lewandowski is going to Bayern, Falcao has as good as gone to Monaco for the money.

I remember hearing the commentator mention that neither had scored as many as Frank last season and Torres scored more than Frank so I'm not sure your comparison in a friendly at the end of an exceptionally long season is actually valid.

I would like to keep one of Torres or Ba. I personally prefer Torres, but thats just me. Bring back Lukaku, and sign a top striker - admittedly we seem to be running out of options.

Obviously I keep hearing the Lewandowski to Bayern thing but it's not confirmed and ultimately Dortmund still hold his registration. Clearly they wont want to lose another player to Bayern so say us and Bayern both bid 25 million; they could accept ours and reject theirs. Nothing the player could do save for seeing out his contract.

He may well end up at Bayern, just hope we are at least trying especially with a lot of the other available forwards quickly becoming unavailable.

Torres was playing well towards the end of last season, but his league record was still diabolical.

15 goals, 82 league apps, 150k+ p/w, don't let the door hit you on the arse Nando <ok>

We need strikers that we don't talk about whether or not they're good enough. I think that summarises it, regardless of peoples opinions either way.
