Well deserved point for you today. Thought Allan was your best player. You must be looking at your last five and thinking you can do it. Fans were well behaved as well so good luck.

Ian, thanks for your reasoned assessment. It sounds like it was an exciting and colse game. It is possible that we will be in the same league next year but, in my opinion, unlikely. We only seem to able to play in alternate games and think that the gap between us and safety is too large. As for Saints, your next 2 games are key, particularly Friday's meeting with Reading. Avoid defeat in those two and I think you will make it, albeit in second place to Reading, who seem to be in a rich vein at the moment. As with us, your superior goal difference may yet play a part in your destiny.

Hi, Saints fan in peace here. I just came in to say I thought Scott Allan had a great game today. For someone that loves players with an eye for the pass that also get back to defend I thought he was excellent. Is he normally this good? If so I am surprised West Brom haven't recalled him!

Do you ever go to Pompey games fatandfunkyfunky ?
Not sure where some people felt a draw was a fair result.
Two fantastic strikes gave you a point where as we missed chances through out the game and your keeper was bloody good.
Please tell me why you had empty seats at fratton and again at St Mary's
    fatandfunky ?
You can't sell all your tickets for the best derby match in football poor very poor . maybe you should try going to games funky. ;)

First and foremost what a cracking game of football - and over the 90 minutes a draw was about right - yes they had more posession and Ashdown pulled off two blinders but for graft, tactical nous and never looking 2nd best we were worth the draw. Whether any fan of either persuasion disagrees is by the by I defy anyone to say it wasn't a thoroughly exciting derby. Whatever the remainder of the season holds for both clubs I believe that both have been a credit to the county today. There are twists and turns still to go for us all and I genuinely hope we all get what we are wishing for because if we survive and you go up it will, for very different reasons have been amazing years for us both. We should have won 2-1, Scummer influeneced refereee ignored the linesman flagging for Sharp being blatantly 2 yards offside to go 2-1 up then buckled. Usual cheating Scummers!.<doh>

I watched it online, and it was an entertaining, exciting, end-to-end match, full of "thrills & spills". It could have gone either way, but to my mind, a draw was a fair result.

Agree with EastneyPFC and Ian regarding their comments.

Mind you, at 1-1 in the 89th. minute, the cameras panned in on quite a few Saints fans leaving the ground early, believing the match was virtually over - how wrong can you be ! They missed two goals, and a lot of excitement. Not exactly a "fire alarm" moment like last time, but still rather a strange thing to do !!

Cheers Wp, hope your feeling pucker soon as your players deserve all the support they can get, especially after today's efforts.
I think your manager summed it up as a cup tie atmosphere and game. Spot on.
As for SB3, well I took a few photos on my phone of the blue morg when our 2nd went in and I didn't see a fan with two lips to play any instrument as all their bottom lips were on the floor.
    Excellent photo too:cool:
Needless to say my phone broke after that :D

Cheers Ian. I think we're down this time but Saturday put a lot of pride back after the home humiliation against Burnley. You've got to congratulate Michael Appleton for the way he set them up to stifle the home sides creativity. It worked a treat. I can't see anything stopping you lot from promotion now, so enjoy the rest of the run in. At least we can hold our heads up high.

Of course we should have won 2-1, but well played Reading. I wonder if the Scummers will bottle it with just 3 games left?!<laugh>

The team might be wobbling on the pitch (defence to be precise) but some of us fans are stoic, resilient and rock-steady. Plenty of fight and bottle in Sweep.

    COYS!
