OK, call me negative if you like. But I'd like to think that I'm being realistic. I would love to let my heart rule my head & say yes, we're QPR, of course we'll stay up. But the facts remain that we have probably four or five players of Premiership quality, I'm not including Dyer or any of the trialists as I'm sure about their levels of fitness etc. So the questions are, do we have the players to score enough goals, and will our defence be able to cope with the majority of the opposition's strikers? I suspect the answer to both of those is no!

Hoops Eternal and Jimmy the One are the only two bloggers on here that almost always talk sense IMO (You're not too bad either Brix )
I'm sure the players - those who won us the Championship - are really feeling the confidence from those fans who are essentially saying they're useless relegation certs who can't cut it in the Premier League. It's certainly one way to get behind your team 100%.
Its not about that Joey, its about facts. And the facts are that upon winning promotion to the Premiership, you must significantly strengthen your squad or you will go back down. No amount of ego-massaging will change that. On the other hand, any stick that our fringe players get could buoy them up to prove us wrong!
When was football all about facts Swords? I was one of those who thought Premiership football would bring with it a £20 million transfer budget and a mid-table finish, but now we're all aware that was never going to be the case. Norwich and Swansea still haven't got stronger squads than us, yet their fans are buoyant about the season ahead. Our downfall was we thought we'd start splashing the cash when we got to the Prem because we've got the financial clout to do it. Last year we all moaned the signings weren't good enough and we needed to strengthen more to get out of the Championship, but look where that side got us. In all honesty, I'm just a little bored with reading day in, day out, about our woeful summer and the impending doom that awaits us. Would much rather say let's give it a bloody good go and see where we end up. PS - I do agree, although slightly contradicting myself, that fringe players might feel they have a point to prove in the face of fans' criticism. Could work both ways though.
I haven't read of one r's fan who's said he won't support the team to the hilt next season. Mostly the complaints are by loyal fans who have been priced out of going to matches to watch their team. On the field, it's clear Ecclestone and Briatore were planning to sell Taraabt and not pass on the funds to NW (out of NW's own mouth). NW has been gagged and is seen by bookies as the second mostly likely manager in the Prem to be sacked first. No, it's not been a particularly happy summer for QPR fans - maybe it will improve, we'll see. But I'm sure all r's fans will be up for the challenge come August 13.
