What a job he's done, and i spat my dummy out more than most when we appointment him. Massive respect to him, i love it when im proved wrong when it concerns the lads.
The lad has done a hell of a job. So impressed with the way he handled the challenges such as injuries and us not getting what we really wanted in the January window. I hope he can take us through the play offs and then onto the promised land. Love to see him against the big boys.....I don't think Klopp would start anything of his sh*t against Mogga because a right hand from this lad will knock him into the following week. He's a total football man and clearly the lads love him. Hope he stays a long time and the merry go round finally stops with our managers.
Was decidedly underwhelmed when he was appointed but I've had second thoughts now so I'll reserve judgement until the end of the season
Can we all agree despite losing Simms, and all our injuries he has never once moaned or made any excuses. Losing Neil and getting Mogga reminds me of splitting up with my ex wife and meeting the lass im with now tbf
Interesting comments from David Connolly about Mowbray and the harmony with the staff and players, makes complete sense too.
cant say i really 'doubted' him but then i always let the managers work do the talking...i certainly wont say i was 'over the moon' when i heard as it seemed to happen quick and really came across as 'he was in the stadium so we asked him'. he certainly has surprised me (he has always been a good manager) but watching his telly work now and seeing more of him you really see what the job and game means to him as well as the lads and the club...no idea how far he could or would want to take the club but right now he is the perfect man.
The "Mowbray slump" was definitely a thing because Blackburn fans said so... But they were 3rd in the table in March and finished 7th. Mowbray was 11th in the table in April and finished 6th. Maybe it's the "Blackburn slump"...
Hope your lass doesn’t think you’re comparing her to mogga’s looks I was gutted when Neil left. Have to admit that. Thought I’d give Mowbray a chance but didn’t know much about him. Read a bit if stuff which I kind of liked. But he still wouldn’t have been top of my shopping list! Hindsight is wonderful eh?
Mate if i was laid in the middle of her and him last night id have probably turned my back on her an cuddled him
I was gutted when Neil left. It was pretty obvious immediately that we'd get Mowbray as he was available and experienced. A Boro mate described him as a dour get. Which he is. I thought he'd steady the ship and keep us up. Fine by me. I never thought for a second we'd be in the play-offs. And if I had I would have discounted it again after all the key injuries. Who cares if TM isn't the life & soul of the party and would be a crap stand-up comedian? That's not his job. He's obviously an amazing manager who is great at developing young players. And brilliant at achieving the impossible!
He sadly won’t be alone. If we don’t get promoted, I’m not bothered. I’ll be gutted at the time, but in a grand scheme, I will be very proud of what those lads have achieved under such massive adversity. Unfortunately not all fans think like that
TBF, Monty says that literally every time we lose a game. We could lose 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final via a dodgy penalty and Monty would be livid at the management
Sign of a great manager......young inexperienced lad gives away a penalty in the dying minutes of a game that cost us a win.......then starts him the following game.....a lot of managers would have dropped him after that. It seems as though he's very well respected by our team.....but maybe also has taken the role of dad on as well.
