Aye it was terrifying watching you barely beat the worst team in the league. At home.

    I am so scared <laugh>

I'd fancy Perch's chances against that lot.

A long way to go, but if any of you lot don't think we're a lot better as a club with O'Neill at the helm compared to Bruce, you're barmy. Today is a start, nothing more, but 1-0 down with 6 mins to go, and we would have lost that a few games ago.

Even though this was intended as a WUM article I don't think it's out of the realms of possibility that this could happen. We have our two best defenders out injured tiote is injured (and wont play another game for us IMO) his backup is injured and his backups backup is suspended.

We are decent going forward but I truly fear for us defensively without the main guys at the back, all it takes is us to go on a bad run have say demba Ba pick up a knock and lose one or two players in jan and we are ****ed.

Don't be so arrogant about Sunderland's fortunes because things can change in football ridiculously quick.

I don't think they will finish above us come may but it's certainly possible and I bet they aren't too far away, MON is a good manager and they will do well under him.

    Sid.

O'Neill has a lot of work to do though. You are miles behind where you were last season.

  9. Just popped back to have a look to see if anyone replied to my OP, and I am shocked to see so many replies and so much interest! Although, I must say, that I am a little disappointed to get so many accusations of being little more than a wum. How am I wumming? I've merely asked the question, "do you see a Sunderland headed by MON as a threat to you, this season?" How can I ask that question any other way? If you genuinely believe that Sunderland with or without MON are not going to catch you this season, that's fair enough. This is a debating forum, after all.

Loosen up, guys. It's only a game of football, despite what Shankley said.

Perch could play alone and beat that lot.

We're a Darren Bent behind, mate. Would you rather have Bendtner or Bent?

I think the way you called that lot a 'footballing force' and using the word 'again'. If what they have done over the last 3 years makes them a football force then what on earth are Barcelona?

The results between the two meant more last season than the 1 point they had on us.

Could use some **** like that up front. We thought he was good, but his knees were too risky. Seem to be holding up OK though...

11 goals before christmas. Delighted. There is a thread on your board about Larsson being bargain of the summer but I don't think you can look any further than Demba Ba. Larsson has been class and has scored some great goals, but Ba has more and that's what matters at the end of the day.

I remember Brucey's Beak saying he'd pay for a night out for me if Ba scored more than Bendtnar.

You certainly know how to rub it in and hurt a guy's feelings.
