Good opinion. There's a real chance he will be very much like Mighty described - worse than Bates. Then again, from what I've heard, the fans at Cagliari are mainly behind him after his 20+ years there. I don't know anything about the other bids at all. Keeping GFH is a non-starter for me - their parent company could easily go bust at any time. Keeping Haigh and Salem's Lot brings its own problems as they do like to use social media to make themselves look complete naive tits. But Haigh did seem to step up this weekend, and he may not have been involved in any prior discussions (I have no knowledge on this) if he had a vested interest and was compromised because of other bids. I don't know anything about Flowers, and I don't know anything about the Man U guy. Whoever comes in, they will show their intentions over a season or so. I don't think it's easy to choose which one would be better right now. So for me, I guess I'm open to persuasion
If Farnans, verity and Pearson could reach gfhs valuation I think they are my preferred option. I don't want anymore of Haighs pr bullshit.
38seconds ago Phil hay confirmed on twitter that contracts have not been exchanged. I know of two different consortia who met GFH todaywith a view to buying them out lock stock and barrel. Not sure either of them will have cellinos riches but they should be able to get rid of GFH. The next three days will be interesting whatever happens. He don't like me, I don't like him but Cooper will be able to confirm this. For any Americans or gay bikers reading this, its not a wind up.
I've got my fingers, toes, arms, legs & eyes all crossed. Not sure I can manage it for 3 whole days, but I'll try!
The rumour was because the talks were still going on. I did say repeatedly the deal wasn't done yet. That seems to be true. Not in the room so it is all speculation but it seems to be gathering credence. The whys and wherefores will come out after this gets wrapped up. We can have a post Mortem then.
After the madness of a weekend you could not make up, could you imagine hearing tomorrow that Haigh and Bates had joined forces to buy us....
Problem at the moment GFH need to sell quick given the rate the club is losing money. Means they may not be able to wait for newcomers to come to the table and start the whole due diligence process again which would presumably take months and could still fail. As it stands, it seems they're days away from getting their hands on Cellinos millions. GFH couldn't care less about Leeds or fans so cannot see them selling to anyone but the Italian. Given the last 48 hours though, what do I know
If the stories are right that I hear, GFH have lost £11m in running Leeds. This confuses me. Our wage bill is smaller than clubs with lower incomes. Even once you add the rental costs of TA & ER, we're still ahead of the game compared to most. So what costs £11m+ in a year?
Good question, one of the highest gates in the league, plenty of tv cash, Ok rent wages etc,but how do we make aloss?
What a pantomime GFH deny sacking potato head The Eyetie denies sacking him Haigh resigned because of it, but has been reinstated Who the **** is running this shambles? Whoever it is deserves one of these http://www.firebox.com/product/2287/Piss-Up-In-A-Brewery-Experience
I am not gay and you cannot know I ride a bike so I will bit at the "American" part. So are you claiming: 1) To know the Italian deal is off, like you did on Friday (May have been Staurday), or 2) That you have heard a rumor at ER on Saturday, or 3) That you are relying on Phil Hay, or 4) That you are ITK with two consortia, or 5) That you are tight with Gary Cooper/LUST, or 6) None of the above, or 7) All of the above? Oh what the heck, starting to make no difference as after all the claims you have made you are bound to be right with one of them and you will able to say "told you so" afterwards as you predicted you would.
From another website: http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co....ime-season-extended-at-leeds-united-1-6413916 very interesting part: "Elland Road in those dark hours was devoid of authority. Even Cellino’s plans suffered because of it. The owner of Cagliari and the focal point of so much anger in Leeds wanted to sign five foreign players before Friday’s transfer deadline. In the end, he signed one – Andrea Tabanelli, a 23-year-old midfielder loaned from Italy but unable to do more during United’s win over Huddersfield than sit in the East Stand. Leeds have not even announced his arrival. Where the other four deals were concerned, Cellino could find no-one to sign the paperwork or work the fax machine. In that respect, United were asleep with key staff hidden away. The deadline passed."
I said according to word ar ER when I started that. Whilst everyone was saying the deal was done I cautioned it wasn't. Where you are correct is that like everyone else I am piecing together info as I hear it. No idea where it ends up but as it stands but the deal is not finalised yet. I am aware the other groups talking to GFH are known to GC and beemcdee what they are talking about I have no idea. But they must be talking about something.
Here's one likely reason I pointed out previously. All these "investors" that keep getting added to our club have to be paid. I know some here like to believe they're not but they don't fly around the world every week to watch Leeds and pay for it themselves. How much would twelve months of negotiations, lawyers, due diligence last year have cost? I would suspect millions. Were there playoffs to, Harvey Williams maybe Bates? I'll bet there were. Money flying about everywhere except where it should, into the squad
