I'm no longer involved due a change of role. I attended meetings twice fortnightly for 8 months but havent been involved since March so dont know the latest state of play.
Great news that it's been approved the City needs the boost. As for the objector. I would be amazed if some sort of provision has not been made to either relocate or incorporate the crane / wall into the scheme. I worked on a number of supermarket projects in the 90's and there were always planning objections because more often than not the buildings would be done on land that people thought should be used for community projects. You'd be amazed how many cheap sports centres, play grounds and community centres the likes of Tesco and Sainsbury have 'donated' to local communities to smooth the passage of consumerism.
As a trainee electrician I view the Greenport project as very important to the future and should benefit the whole city. I'm glad that this clown is very much in the minority, I can only hope that this is the first step in a major recovery for Hull.
