Why are we suddenly so desperate to raise money anyway? We're supposed to be breaking even this year, Arsenal are the only club who regularly do that.

Not at all people just care about their club and some feel the current decision to rename our ground as unacceptable for a variety of reasons. Nothing wrong with people saying it. Maybe it has no direct on the fans bar the resentment at a stupid move, but that doesn't mean its alright. Can't see how that is bitching to be honest. They've made a **** decision and people are saying they have made a **** decision. Seems a fairly vaild and accurate observation.

No matter the state of any club financially, an extra £10 mil would never go amiss.

As for renaming the club; it wouldn't be unprecedented...

Even if this £10m a year does go straight into repayments to MA, that means that Ashley will have his loan back quicker, meaning that money for transfers and whatnot will be freed up sooner. Also, should we be looking to sell the future, clearing MA's debt will lower the asking price and make us more attractive to investors due to having no dependance on MA.

Branded stadiums are the future I'm afraid and whilst I am against the current name (mainly because Sports Direct is a corrupt organisation), so long as we can find a respectable sponsor such as O2 then I can certainly see the sense in this, especially if we are wanting to really push on and cement a place in the Top10/8 long term.

I think you'll find mate I never said we were doomed and going to be relegated. The small way in which you think only saw it as that. I quite clearly made the point time and time over that I was more then willing to give these new signings a fair crack at the whip but disagreed with what they did in general. AND I STILL DO.

Nothing's changed in my mind to the fact that:
    a) Getting rid of Nolan and Barton was not worth the risk and needless. Would we be that lower in the league with them in the squad?
    b) Not replacing Enrique with a tailor made left back BEFORE selling him. We still need one in my eyes as Raylor isnt the answer long term. We have been very lucky on that front. I said Raylor was the one to step and he has done well. Cissokho/Pieters/anyone is still required.
    c) We need another striker. Demba Ba has been class. But we still need more options. Best isn't reliable enough. A striker is needed in January, anyone disagree with that?
    d) We need another centre back. Even before Williamson got injured we are too thin in this department. You disagree?
    e) I still dont like our keeper situation. We have gone from 3 class keepers to just one..........sense?

I quite rightly diagreed and criticised the clubs stingy ways towards transfers considering the funds available. I stand by them 100%. Anymore injuries and we are looking very very thin.

Their is nothing negative about me mate. It is what it is and I call it. Simple.

Im not sure what world you live in to be honest. You never seem to have an opinion but focus all of your energy on bitching about others opinions. I cant say that kind of person deserves that much respect.

And ur right i dont like Mike Ashley............for the reason we have all witnessed in the past 2 days. It doesnt matter how well we are doing IN SPITE of this clown...he manages to pull a corker out the bag. All of this name changing is b*llocks is totally avoidable and pointless. The mans a cheap mug. Always will be.

    :D

We're not desperate for cash I didn't think? Ridding the name St James' Park isn't worth 10 million to the club anyway. Just get a new shirt sponsorship and if you really need the money, advertising or something. I know it's nowhere near the same amount of money, but I'd rather it still be called St James' Park.

Plus it would only be worth it if it's NOT something like SD, and if the club gets all the money to spend on a PLAYER -- since that's what they've said it's for. If it's spent on seats or toilets I'll be unhappy. I know it's still going into the club but they've specifically said a player.
