Four of the cards were for time wasting at the end, thats closing down a victory in my books. Jaaskelainen --> Time Wasting Tomkins --> Time Wasting McCartney --> Time Wasting Collins --> Time Wasting Nolan --> Dissent Cole --> Dissent Diame --> Trip Noble --> Late Slide Tackle Only 2 were for on the ball incidents.
It really could have been more. Cole was allowed to get away with a lot before eventually being booked including an, at best, stray elbow. Nolan took it upon himself to referee the game in the second half and did more than enough to merit two separate yellows for dissent as well as getting away with the foul to break up the attack which resulted in Taarabt blazing the free kick over. There was a nasty tackle on Wright-Phillips that on another day would have been a red. It's way down the list of reasons we lost the game, but it has to bite West Ham in the arse later in the season. The textbook Allardyce performance and Hughes plays a four man midfield of short, physically unimposing players.
Correct. And that's exactly the kind of cynical dark place I'm talking about. Way beyond any normal levels of gamesmanship but Fat Sam will be a proud man today.
It was 9! It was ugly indeed and the travesty was seeing Samba sent off. With 9 on yellows, I'll bet there woudl be at least a couple that might have deserved a second yellow. Be nice for Clattenberg to ref a game at LR and NOT send off a QPR player for a change.
What can I say, some players are clever and make sure they don't get sent off, others are thick and get themselves sent off.
What did you expect him to do? The first yellow was 'one for the team' and a yellow all day long. The second was a reckless and unnecessary lunge. He let the team down.
Agreed. And it was embarrassing to see Hughes patting him on the back as he left the field. They should both be docked a week's wages.
We wouldnt need a new ground if he was our manager, we wouldnt even sell out LR. Id certainly not renew my ST.
The niggly fouls and time wasting aside, I actually thought they played some good stuff. He set them up as 4-2-3-1 which is exactly what our pillock should be doing away from home.
They've got some good players, but their style will corrode their souls and real Hammers fans will ultimately rebel. I actually feel sorry for them with that manager and those owners.
