Football fans are fickle, if Campbell comes here and bangs in the goals, all will be forgiven

Could not agree more. Thats why Chris Wood has to be the top target. Big power forward who scores goals.
He is the type who would turn draws into wins and narrow defeats into draws. Our Jason Roberts maybe ?

Nothing will change my views on Campbell whatever he does. Plus his old man is poison and we dont need his sort at the club regardless. Let Campbell rot @ Sunderland until the summer and then see who wants him.

Yes he would also be a good signing and not that expensive either. He could also car share with Quinn to Hull. lol.

I also still think that Nick Proschwitz will deliver goals. Just give him time. Sadly some wont and dont.

This kind of response is what worries me about some of our fans to be honest. Bruce has more or less come out and said he is his preferred target so why not accept that we might get him and support him? It's not like he's a Marlon King type? 'Let him rot'?! How do you actually know he doesn't want to come here and play for us, you don't, so better not to be judgemental.

    Correct

Also I am more than happy to give Proschwitz time, but I cannot see him banging in enough goals to fire us to promotion this season. Maybe he would be a good foil for Campbell, though

Read some of the reports up in mackem land. All the ones ive read state that FC does niot want to drop down and hopes a PL club will come after him. What worries me is far too many city fans are stuck in 2008. There are 3 proven championship goal scorers available in january who are scoring goals this season in our league. I have my doubts that FC will ever get back to how he was.

However, its the call of Steve Bruce and nobody elses. If he comes he comes but i wont change my views on FC.
I find the dismissal of Nick Proschwitz so early far more worrying by some city fans.

If Bruce buys a forward in January, he is going to want someone who he thinks can cut it in the premiership also

I'd be happy for Campbell to come back, however I think this might be a very handy massive smokescreen for City while another player is sought.

Can't wait for January! Hope we get it sorted early like the McLean/Fryatt signings a couple of years back

You could say the same about Meyler tickles and look how he's turning out!!

MON doesnt fancy Campbell, thats all, nothing to do with his ability. He didnt fancy Elmo either, again , look how thats going for us.

IMO, Chris Wood will. Hence why he is my first choice. The likes of Grant Holt, Danny Graham, Steve Morison, Shane Long, Nicky Lambert have all proved they can score in the PL.

FC could well be a smoke screen as dont forget he was not always a regular starter even under Steve Bruce. For sure MON does not rate him one little bit. That for me is enough. I think £2/3m and we could land both CW + CD.

Tickler doesn't doubt Campbell's ability, he's just been stubborn because of how Campbell treated us when we were in the prem

Yes you could, BUT there is one big diffeence here. Meyler is not expected to score goals and he has had already many city fans wondering if he is good enough. Anyone who was @ Watford last week will now know. Our midfield is now complete and IMO the best in the championship. Just ask Watford......

Elmo and Meyler could be recalled in January, which could cause us a problem

CORRECT. His dad also played a large part of that process. FC comments after the 4-1 PL loss and his antics when he came to the KC also leave a nasty taste. However, putting all that to one side.....

I JUST DONT THINK HE WILL EVER BE AS GOOD AGAIN AS HE WAS IN 2008. Many forget the role Dean Windass played that season. Also, interesting to note that even Deano cannot get hold of Mr FC either (reading his hdm article last saturday).

Best to sign a proven Chamionship goalscorer first, sign a Premierleague goalscorer when we're in the Premierleague. There's more chance of them coming to us when we're up there.

Somehow i dont think they will be especially Elmo. In fact Steve Bruce said last week that a deal has been done for Elmo in the summer IF City are back in the PL.

Meyler is more likely to be recalled than Elmo but MON might decide he needs all the squad he can for the run in

That win midweek has given MoN a bit of breathing space.

I think if they stay out the bottom 3 until the window opens, they'll spend a bit of money.

I reckon MoN has to do it this transfer window in order to save himself. If he doesn't he's making problems for himself and the Mackems risk getting into further problems down the bottom.

So i reckon (well hope) both aren't needed by their parent club after that. We'll have to see what business they do.
