Agree with Roller that it's pretty odd that this is already on the offish when the deal is not yet fully done and dusted. That said though, if it does go through okay then this would be excellent news. With Campbell and Bothroyd upfront, and Tarbs staying I think that we'd have more than a fighting chance in the prem! Fingers crossed that happy days are here!
Can now see a few goals in us next season, bit more tightening up the defence and i'll be a happy-bunny!
Blackpool could score goals for fun and look where they ended up. It's all about the defence for me. Orr/Hill are going to get found out big time and I'm not too confident in our centre backs either. We need at least 2 defensive signings (of decent quality, not a la Gabbidon) before the season kicks off.
i would love to see kyle Walker back but on a 12 month loan as well as Rose. It would have been nice to see the R's bid for Liam Ridegwell, but when you haven't got a transfer budget (at this time of writing) it is a tad difficult. Maybe if the likes of Vine, Dave, Hall, Pellican are sold, maybe the likes of Cook, Rowly and Hulse loaned out then maybe we might just have a few quid to spend. Ramage, Connolly, Kaspers (IF he stays) Gabbidon and ****tu combined don't fill me with a lot of confidence.
Swansea has agreed terms with Leroy Lita, prem experience, think Swansea trio of Sinclair, Graham and Lita looks quite strong. But Boothroyd, Campbell and Taarabt for me is better. And def better value for money!
Everyone keeps saying that Bothroyd and Cambell would be a great partnership up front. I can't disagree with that. I wonder though, if we do sign DJ, where he will play? To keep our 4-2-3-1 formation I would have thought that DJ would have to play in one of the two wide positions either side of Tarbs. If we switch to 4-4-2 to play the two of them up front together, where do we play Adel? Nice problem to have I suppose!!
I've made that point so many times that I've given up now, I'm glad to see someone else having a go. We don't play two up front. Campbell could play in the attacking 3, or be on the bench. Either would work.
Swansea can have Lita. I hate the guy. He's not that good and he wants too much money. He only scored about 8 goals last year. For a striker who had no injury problems that is poor. Helguson had 2 injuries last year and scored 13. Helguson, the man who always seems to miss more than he hits, scored more than him with 2 injuries. Mackie was out for the half of the season and scored 9. 1 more than I think Lita scored. If he can't score more than 10 in the Championship, he will struggle to get 5 in the Premiership.
Have to agree with this assessment - happy with Orr/Hill as squad members to play in cup & a number of Prem matches but definately not as first choice FB's. Don't mind Gabbidon but don't thinks adds anymore that current crop - was hoping for Bassong, but those dreams are a distant memory now as was when thought we might spend a few quid to strengthen the squad.
@TransferDeals TransferDeals #QPR boss Neil Warnock expects to complete the £1.25million signing of #Blackpool striker DJ Campbell next week - at the second attempt.
we are gonna have a ttle challenging team with dj. Im looking forward to spanking swansea and send them back to the welsh league
in reply to ↑ @Smudge1962 Paul Smith @QPRLiam The deal is done. I'm not sure why their is a delay in the announcement.
Swans have Routledge now. So with Sinclair, Routledge, Graham and Lita have nearly a completely new forward line. Interesting to see how that goes especially as in different circumstances we could have had Routledge and Graham lining up for us.
