Soz El but I think you'll find I have been singing from the same hymn sheet as you for yonks. Total dog shizer with an attitude to match.
Is that one of those new hybrids? - half electric half gasoline? - goodness me how cars do reflect their owners personalities these days....
I said he was a good player if you used him properly, but that for us he'd contributed nothing so we weren't losing anything with sending him back/not getting him again. His problem with us last season was he was a winger who hardly scored or set up goals (I think he scored 2 and assisted 1 all season). I also said that his crossing was good but our team wouldn't have been out of place in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and he realised it pretty quickly. There's bugger all point in crossing to a bunch of midgets with no pace because they can't win high crosses in the air, and they haven't got the pace to get on the end of low crosses before the defence does so he started shooting all the time from what ever position he found himself (like Koren, but at more acute angles). Somewhere on our board there's a thread where I'm trying to explain that saying he's useless to us isn't the same as saying he's a useless player, because up until about this time he was still seen as being a top player for us by most people. This season we've had a complete change of tactics and replaced half the team, so he's doing a completely different job, and we have players capable of winning headers and releasing him where he needs releasing. Opposition defences also seem to be shorter this season which helps the first part of that. Leeds in particular I noticed they didn't look much bigger than Koren. Much more heavily built than RK, but they only seemed a couple of inches taller. I don't think Brady has improved much in himself, he's just got better players around him and that gives him more confidence to use them rather than trying to do everything on his own. With Stewart we'd probably let him go for free if he could actually play for you this season. His head has gone, which is a shame because there's a good player in there somewhere. It was still the correct decision to reject your bid last year though. You don't make decisions with hindsight, and the message selling him would have sent (especially at the price offered) would have been a major set back in our efforts to keep other players/make signings of our own. As it is other changes happened, but it's no different to Steven Hunt when we were in the PL, we couldn't sell him in the January without holding up the white flag, he just happened to get injured almost immediately and we were buggered.
