to be fair at the beginning of last season fryatt did miss a bagful of chances, i remember he missed 8 or 9 in the 1st 2 games against blackpool and macclesfield alone.. but at the end of the day you cant knock his goals record since he joined us, he misses a lot of chances because he gets himself in more positions then most.. aluko has missed a lot already this season, as people have mentioned if they scored every chance they wouldnt even be in the championship. i think we will miss fryatt badly, in fact i think if he was fit i would have us nailed on for a top 6 spot, without him i still think its touch and go.
It was actually Stu Elliot's missus I was talking to, she's back from Ireland for a few days to put their house on the market. Stu's move to Glentoran was supposed to be temporary, but they've decided to sell up and move home permanently. Funny lad is Stu, he doesn't actually like football at all, he only ended up playing because he found it was something he was good at. He never watches football, he hates training, he has absolutely no interest outside of a game he's actually playing in.
I like that Leigh Griffiths, I first noticed him last season on Fifa, who, incidently, I signed for City.
We created chances galore for 95% of last season, it's a total myth that we didn't. I think people are just remembering March and judging Barmby's entire reign on that. I don't think he's really missed a good chance through poor finishing. The worst was probably in the first half at Bristol when he tried to flick it instead of taking a touch, but it wasn't down to poor finishing. He's missed half chances but not downright sitters, and he certainly hasn't gone through on the keeper with half the pitch to play with, waited far too long to shoot and had it plucked from his feet like Fryatt did many times last season. Or what Kempton said, Simpson hasn't done that either. No one expects a striker to score every shot, but when it's just plain stupid like not shooting at all when one-on-one it's just unforgivable.
Not really. The medical advice will be multiple choice "these are your options" processes: 1) rest him and hope he recovers without needing surgery 2) have him go through surgery now 3) give him injections or just play him and then do one of the two previous options, obviously playing him with an injury risks making the injury worse The club will then decide if the positive in performance he'll give the team compared to his replacement is worth the risk of making the injury worse. Obviously big games and games just before an international break will see players risked more than end of season games that mean nothing to the club.
