I never really take notice of pre season games bar the last one. When I was still playing and then coaching, the final pre season game you wanted to be up to match pace/fitness and pretty much know exactly how you where going to play for the first league game etc. We look miles off all parts
There's not too much we can change, the two games today were about getting as many minutes into the squad as possible. We've not really gone with any subs that aren't kids. Obviously the performance shouldn't be this dire
He could quite easily take off a defender and put another midfield player on to try something different, it's like watching McCann mk 2 here
I know it’s pre-season but there are clear issues that won’t be resolved by signing a 33-year-old winger.
At the risk of being shot down and accused of being negative, I have to say that we haven’t been very good.
You can have all the best players around but if you don't know what to do with them then your in **** street.
Woeful at the moment but this can happen and is happening when poor decisions at management level regarding letting your most influential player of the last two seasons go, I was shot down by M Orange when I said Honymans departure was a terrible decision, but by his own admission he plays Football manager on the computer so he obviously knows his onions lol , rant over and let's hope things improve, ps I'm made up for Grant he was a good manager under difficult circumstances.
I don't think it's because Honeyman has gone these players are sound, it's the manager who sets the team up and tells them what to do, maybe their is belief in Acuns dream with them but once here it's kicked into touch once they are with the manager.
But why? It's not a league game and the priority is minutes in the legs. The game is gone. The kids on the bench today haven't played a minute for us in pre season so far
