Scott Parker is one of the most under rated midfielders in prem history. He would add experience and allow Drinkwater to get forward
... he would add experience I'll grant you ... but it would be totally underwhelming to be going for Esteban Cambiasso and end up with Scott parker I'm afraid ...
I've always rated Parker but I think he's about finished now. I'm assuming (hoping) that Cambiasso still has a bit more to offer - well he'd better have after all this!
... my thoughts too... the main aspect of Parker's game was the energy and speed that got him around the park ... technically he was OK but never anything special ... Cambiasso very different - skilled technical slide rule passer and wonderful reader of a game - not prone to rash challenges - which can't be said of Parker ... Parker has now lost his main attributes (perhaps not that occasional rush of blood)
I think the word you are missing Proud is..... "WAS" one of the most under rated midfielders. He no longer has the legs or engine in the middle of the park that made him the player he was. Not for me thanks
